It is all about the Emmys tonight on Project Runway, as some designers from previous seasons make their way back into the workroom, but not to design again, but this time to be designed for! The Season 10 designers partner up to design for previous contestants, including last season's winner Anya Ayoung-Chee and Kenley Collins (ugh, she bothers me)!

 

The designers meet Heidi Klum on the runway to find out what their next challenge will be. They will be making a look that is red carpet ready. They head to South Street Seaport to meet Tim Gunn and a special guest to find out the details of the Lexus Team Challenge. They will be creating red carpet looks for the Emmys. They will have to incorporate the color of the vehicle they are assigned into their look. They have $300 and one day. They will also be working in teams of two. They each get a key to the cars and there are two keys to each car...this could be interesting. The pairs are: Christopher and Andrea, Nathan and Sonjia, Buffi and Elena, Fabio and Ven, Gunnar and Kooan, Melissa and Dmitry, Alicia and Raul.

 

The designers head out to meet who they are designing for. Christopher and Andrea will be designing for Anya Ayoung-Chee. Alicia and Raul will be designing for Mila Hermanovski. Gunnar and Kooan will be designing for Irina Shabayeva. Melissa and Dmitry will be designing for April Johnson (April loves goth, so her and Melissa could be a good match). Nathan and Sonjia will be designing for Valerie Mayen. Buffi and Elena will be designing for Laura Bennett. Fabio and Ven will be designing for Kenley Collins. The designers talk with their clients and try to get ideas on what they are looking for. Kenley is going to be difficult and it looks like Irina will be as well. Alicia and Raul are going to struggle with designing a gown.

 

They get to Mood and do some shopping. Kooan has no idea what is going on and Gunnar is getting annoyed with him. Melissa and Dmitry cannot find any fabric that they like. Buffi and Elena are trying to put aside their difference and work together for this challenge.

 

The designers get back to the workroom and talk about who each other got. Gunnar is worried about having a very picky client and working with Kooan, who has no formal wear experience. The teams all seem to be working together very well right now, which it is still early! Tim comes in and says they have until midnight to work and very little time to work tomorrow. Also, the winner of the challenge gets to attend the Emmy Awards with their client!

 

Christopher is excited to learn from everyone in the group and why not start with the veteran of the group, Andrea. She has designed for celebrities, so he is happy. For Elena and Buffi, Elena works on the construction of the gown while Buffi irons the pleats into the fabric. Raul and Alicia are working hard together, as they struggle with their first gown they have ever designed. Buffi is getting upset with ironing the pleats all day. She wants to be a part of the design. Elena is freaking out about the time and wishes she would have taken the evening wear glass in school.

 

Tim comes back in and he has the clients with him to do the critiques. Tim and Irina meet with Gunnar and Kooan and Gunnar said he doesn't know if it is arrogance or her not understanding, but she is not happy with the look. Tim said it could be borderline vulgar. Tim and April meet with Dmitry and Melissa. April thinks it is a great canvas for her hair, which is purple right now. Tim and Mila meet with Alicia and Raul. Mila and Tim are both concerned about a print for the red carpet, which is more day time. She wants to use less of the print and make it more formal. They come to a compromise. Tim and Kenley meet with Ven and Fabio. She said they have great taste in fabric and it is adorable and just what she wanted. Tim and Valerie meet with Nathan and Sonjia. She liked it and said if they wanted to give it more neckline it is fine, because she doesn't have a ton of cleavage! Tim and Anya meet with Christopher and Andrea. Anya said she doesn't like skin on both sides, so they must cover up the front and leave the back open. Christopher is concerned about the dress now. Tim and Laura meet with Buffi and Elena. Laura said she loves the design, but it is a bit ambitious. Tim said they are making it more complicated than it needs to be. Elena is ready to lose her mind because of timing and she is a perfectionist.

 

Elena and Buffi have an argument and Buffi is trying to get her to calm down and telling her because of timing not everything needs to be done perfectly. Elena said she is calm, but then proceeds to slam the door open and head outside for a cigarette. Buffi tries to find her, but with no success. Elena is shocked they are giving so little time for an evening wear look.

 

Elena realizes that she is going to get no help from Buffi with the construction, so she works even faster than she needs to be. She is in the sewing room and doing who knows what with the sewing machine, as it sounds like a saw! Buffi wants to go get some food and Elena said there is no time...breathe Elena! Now it is time for Christopher to complain that Andrea is moving too slow!

 

The clients come back in for their fitting. Kenley loves her dress, but Sonjia said it is something that could be worn to church and not to the Emmys. Raul and Alicia are over the red carpet challenge. Buffi and Elena are happy with their look and Buffi wishes she had dinner then! Andrea is moving too slow on cutting out the skirt for Christopher to handle, but the day comes to an end.

 

The runway day arrives Tim comes into the workroom and tells them they have two hours to prep their clients for the runway. The clients come in and Kenley is in love with her look. Laura said it is somber, but it looks good. Christopher is over Andrea and how she is so calm when she screws up and so slow. Irina tries on her dress and it is a disaster in the back. She asks Kooan if he wants to fix it, but she is saying she seems to be the only one acting concerned about it. Gunnar comes over and tries to help the situation, but he is over Irina and said it is a white dress that the judges are going to rip apart.

 

It is runway time! It will be interesting to see the designers work that runway tonight as the models. The judges for tonight are Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and guest judge this week is Krysten Ritter, star of Don't Trust The B In Apt. 23. Let the show begin! My favorites are: Christopher and Andrea (color is great for Anya and good look), Melissa and Dmitry (the front was a little plain, but like the look and color for April), Gunnar and Kooan (the white dress is nice and Irina looks good in it) and Nathan and Sonjia (very red carpet appropriate look). My least favorites are: Buffi and Elena (nice, but just too plain for me), Ven and Fabio (again, too plain for a red carpet) and Alicia and Raul (it is just a freaking long black dress with a red belt).

 

The designers take to the runway with their clients and Heidi asks Nathan and Sonjia, Elena and Buffi and Dmitry and Melissa to step forward. They are all safe this week. That leaves us with Gunnar and Kooan, Alicia and Raul, Ven and Fabio and Christopher and Andrea. One will win this week and one will go home! Gunnar and Kooan and Ven and Fabio have the highest scores. Christopher and Andrea and Alicia and Raul have the lowest scores.

 

For Ven and Fabio, Heidi said they did a fabulous job and it looks expensive. Nina said she loves the color and it looks expensive and she loves that they did it short. Krysten Ritter said she doesn't like the short dress. Michael said they really stepped it up. For Gunnar and Kooan, Heidi said it is a beautiful dress and she looks stunning in it. She would rather wear this dress over the other. Nina said that many women could wear it and feel sexy. Krysten said she likes the high neck. Michael said he thinks they understood their client. For Raul and Alicia, Heidi said it is boring and doesn't have one origin of sex appeal. Krysten said it is a real shame to do something so boring. Nina said this makes her look very frumpy and makes it look like they made zero effort. For Christopher and Andrea, Nina said it looks very dated and a little cliché. Krysten said it looks like a Halloween costume you can get at a drugstore. Michael said it is very disappointing.

 

The judges discuss the winning and losing designers. It looks like it might be Gunnar and Kooan winning it because it is dramatic, unlike Ven and Fabio. I think it will be Raul and Alicia losing because it was too frumpy, even though they thought Christopher and Andrea were too cliché. The designers come back to the runway and the winning designer tonight is Ven, so he will be heading to the Emmy Awards! Fabio, Kooan, Gunnar, Christopher and Andrea are all safe. That leaves us with Raul and Alicia. The frumpy look was the loser tonight, but Alicia is safe, so Raul is headed home.

 

The show ends with the next morning arriving and Buffi and Melissa talking that Andrea left in the middle of the night, but it doesn't go past that. It looks like another one bites the dust?
