Hell's Kitchen Season 10

by Todd Betzold

Things are getting down to the wire on Hell's Kitchen and the tensions are riding high for the chefs. With tempers at a high, will the teams be able to finish a dinner service or will they fall flat and get kicked out of the kitchen?

Robyn comes back from dinner service and knows she is between a rock and a hard place. Justin and Brian has a bromance going on the Blue Team, so she tries to kiss Clemenza's ass, but after she threw Clemenza under the bus in front of Chef Ramsay, he knows she is just playing him. Meanwhile, Tiffany and Brian get into it since she belittled him in the kitchen. And why do they ALL smoke on this show???

Time for the next challenge and they will be having a wing-eating competition. They each nominate two chefs, which are Barbie and Tiffany for the Red Team and Justin and Brian for the Blue Team. They will be competing against Joey Chestnut, the hog dog eating contest champion. The chefs are one team and Joey is his own team. Whichever of the teams can eat the 60 wings the fastest will win $500. It came close, but Joey finished first and the chefs had 7 wings left!

The real challenge today is the blind taste test. Since the Red Team has one more chef, they have to sit one out. Kimmie volunteers to sit out since she smoked this morning...um hello, everyone on the show smoked this morning. Kimmie, as big as she is and big as she talks, is a wuss and afraid of a challenge! This is going to be tough for the chefs that just ate all the wings! First up are Christina and Brian. Not one chef has ever achieved a perfect score on this challenge in all ten season! They will attempt to figure out four different foods. Beets are first and they both are correct. Shallots are next and they both guess onions and are wrong. Turkey is next Brian is right and Christina guesses tofu, so a 2-1 lead for Brian. Pineapple is last and both are correct so it is a 3-2 lead for the Blue Team.

Next up are Barbie and Robyn. Grits are first and both are wrong. Kimmie is kicking herself for sitting out...of course she is, because now she can blame the loss on someone else. Barbie and Robyn get the next two, turnips and Sea Bass, wrong and are down to the last one Cilantro. Barbie is correct, so the score is tied now 3-3. Next up are Tiffany and Clemenza. Lamb is first and wrong for both. Sweet Potatoes are next and both wrong again. Eggplant is next and both wrong again. Last is walnuts and Tiffany is right, so a 4-3 lead for the Red Team. Last pair tonight is Dana and Justin. Scallops are first and Justin is right and tied 4-4. Next is fig and both are correct, so 5-5. Next are radishes and both are correct again, so 6-6. Last is sunchoke and Justin is correct and the first perfect score and a 7-6 win for the Blue Team!

For winning, the Blue Team will be heading to a water park for the day. For losing, the Red Team is going to be handling the delivery day. They will be restocking the kitchen and lifting the boxes off the truck. While the Blue Team is riding the waves at the water park, the Red Team is unloading bag after bag of ice and the fighting begins, as Barbie and Kimmie get into it. I am so sick of Kimmie. Now the Red Team must grind the peppercorn by hand, empty the deep fryers and peel potatoes and store them in cold water in the fridge.

It's the end of the night and the chefs get a special delivery from a truck. In the small box is an iPad and a special video message from Chef Ramsay. For the dinner service tomorrow night, it is Red versus Blue Menu. Both teams have one hour to produce a menu of three appetizers, three entrees and three desserts! This is huge for the teams to show Chef Ramsay what they can do.

The teams break off and come up with ideas for their menus. Kimmie keeps coming up with ideas that are getting shot down. For the Blue Team, Robyn and Justin keep battling with ideas. Justin feels she doesn't have a fine dining palette. Brian and Justin with their bromance are on the same plate though. Meanwhile, Justin and Brian do not like any ideas but their own, so the menu is pretty much their own.

The menus have been set and it is the next day and time for prep for dinner service. Kimmie is struggling on the Red Team and doesn't know what to do on any station. The sauce she fought to make she is struggling with. After many attempts, she finally gets it right. Meanwhile, Clemenza spills on himself, which Chef Ramsay told him to keep clean. He goes back to the bathroom to clean up and the Blue Team is pissed he is not helping with the prep.

Barbie has been working for 2 ½ hours on cleaning the mussels, which has everyone on the Red Team wanting to hit her. Barbie goes out for a smoke break, so Christina takes over cleaning the mussels to get things in order. Meanwhile, Clemenza is still cleaning his jacket. After 45 minutes, he comes back to help finish the dishes for Chef Ramsay to taste.

The teams have overcome a major hurdle, as Chef Ramsay approves of their menu with only a few adjustments needed. For the Blue Team, Robyn's dish is told it looks like it is from the 1980s, which Justin kept telling her. The Blue Team is struggling, as Chef Ramsay does not like any of their dishes. Clemenza doesn't check the bone on the quall and Chef Ramsay threatens to send him home right now...and to be continued until tomorrow, ugh!!!
