Big Brother 14

A season of twists and turns is just getting underway on Big Brother. The coaches probably thought they were just going to spend the summer hanging out and offering their opinion but no - they actually have to compete too! The winning coach will get to keep one of his or her team members safe and the competition will also determine the Have and Have Nots for the week. That spells bad news for Britney, who was notoriously poor at challenges during season 12 and compared her strength on last night's episode to that of a six month old baby.

Before we get to that, let's just discuss Ian for a minute. As I Tweeted last night, this kid claims he's been a Big Brother fan since he was 10. Then, what the hell was he doing?! Apparently, he forgot that the HOH can see every room in the house as he paraded around in his boxes, crawled under couches, relieved the gas built up inside of him, and did weird little dances. On top of that, he creeps into people's conversations and sits in the bathroom when the girls are trying to shower. This superfan just found himself the number one target in the house.

Out in the yard, a Big Brother Derby is about to get underway. The coaches are dressed in horse costumes and have to chase each other around a slippery track until one catches the other. In the first one, Boogie pretty easily defeats Britney and in the second, Dan throws it (not convincingly, I might add) so that Janelle gets the win. Who doesn't love a good showdown between Janelle and Boogie? Even though she put up a good fight, he caught her in the end, and decided to save Ian. Well Willie, that just screwed up your plan didn't it?! To make matters worse, each coach (even Boogie) has to pick a team member to be a Have Not for the week. Shane, Ian, Ashley, and Danielle end up with slop and a room to sleep in that would give you some serious vertigo!

Having coaches in the game really complicates things because you can see that they're trying to influence their players to play the way they want them to. Britney and Janelle feel that the only way to break up the Boogie/Dan alliance that has formed is to pit them against each other by nominating their best players. The problem is that those players are Kara and Frank, and Willie has already cut a deal with Frank unbeknownst to them.

Willie's an interesting person. It's easy to think he'll be just like Russell but he's a lot more understated than Russell could ever be. Where as his brother fed everyone the same lines and was overly confident, Willi is quieter but clearly, not afraid to make some enemies. At the nomination ceremony, he did as his coaches wanted and nominated Kara and Frank, who were both completely blindsided.
