Hell's Kitchen Season 10

by Todd Betzold

With Roshni struggling with the women on the Red Team of Hell's Kitchen, we saw Chef Ramsay move her to the Blue Team at the end of last week's show in hopes of motivating her and the men to a victory over the women. Will it work?

The Blue Team welcomes Roshni, while the Red Team has a rift through, as sides are forming between Robyn, Kimmie and the other women. Time for the next challenge though and it is a Mexican challenge now. The teams will be turning five Mexican classics into fine dining foods. Scattered throughout the dining room are these balls with the ingredients to make the dishes. Each team will have 90 seconds to grab a maximum 25 balls, which those ingredients to make five stunning dishes. As the teams hustle around to get the balls with the ingredients they feel they need, the time runs out and they head to the kitchen to get started.

The teams will have 35 minutes to create the five dishes. They each can make a plate, but the five best dishes will present to Chef Ramsay. Brian thinks he can make sexy tacos, but Danielle struggles with making a burrito. The Red Team easily chooses the five dishes, but the Blue Team struggles and has Patrick make the final decision on either Royce's or Brian's tacos and he goes with Royce's, which Brian thinks is a big error.

Chef Ramsay calls in two guests to help him judge this challenge, Thomas Ortega from Ortega 120 and John Sedlar from Rivera & Playa. Up first are Royce and Kimmie with tacos. For Royce, they say the tortilla is very greasy. For Kimmie, the flavors are very strong, so it is a point for the Red Team. Next up is Danielle and Clemenza with burritos. For Danielle, they said it is hard to eat. For Clemenza, the Mexican and Italian food are compadres, so one point for the Blue Team. It is now tied 1-1.

Next up is Tiffany and Justin with soups. For Tiffany, they say it tastes good and you get the delicious flavor of the crab. For Justin, they say they overall like the flavor of it. The Red Team is better and it is a point for the women and a 2-1 lead. Next up is Christina and Patrick with enchiladas. For Christina, they say her dish has been sanitized of anything Mexican. For Patrick, they say the flavor is so good and had the flavor of Mexico, so a point for the Blue Team and a 2-2 tie, which always seems to happen.

For the final dish, it is Dana and Roshni with tostadas. For Dana, they say they like how the tuna blends in...pretty good. For Roshni, they say they love the flavor and vibrant flavor. Thomas Ortega goes Blue and John Sedlar goes Red, so it is up to Chef Ramsay to decide. He goes with the Red Team and a victory for the women again. Their reward is a day inspired by Mexican culture. They are going to John Sedlar's restaurant, Rivera, for lunch. For their loss, the men will be prepping the salsa by hand for Mexican night tonight.

While the women are enjoying their fine dining and salsa dancing lessons, the Blue Team is busy eating some tripe, which they all hate, and just cutting and cutting for the salsa. So, in her drunken state, Dana has decided to start telling Kimmie and Robyn that the other girls are talking about them behind their backs. Well, it was actually Royce from the Blue Team who said it. The next morning they confront the women about it and it blows up...big shocker, but Dana keeps quiet.

While the women are holding nothing back on the Red Team, the men are keeping it together for the Blue Team with Roshni now in the kitchen with them. Time for the first Mexican-themed dinner service in Hell's Kitchen and we get started on the appetizers. Barbie starts on the apps for the Red Team and she sends up bad mussels to start and must start over. Guy is sending up his first app for the Blue Team and he sends up stone cold tuna and must start over. The second time around, Guy gets Chef Ramsay's stamp of approval and the apps start flying out of the kitchen for the Blue Team.

Barbie gets her second chance at mussels and she hits it on the head and the Red Team starts sending out apps. A half hour into dinner service and apps are flying out to the dining room and time to start on the entrees. Dana and Kimmie are working on them for the Red Team and Chef Ramsay notices fish and meat on the same tray and goes off. Dana claims Kimmie told her to put them on the tray together, but Kimmie says it was Dana who did it. These women bother me.

Kimmie eventually says she did it, but is pissed off to admit it because she did not do it and continues to yell at Dana the whole time. Meanwhile, the Blue Team sends out some steak that is not done and some are dry. Chef Ramsay tells Patrick to help Guy with the grill. Danielle sends up pork that is the bomb, but Chef Ramsay sends it back raw.

Patrick and Guy are working on chicken and steak now and can't get on the same timer and the steak is waiting while the chicken is cooking. He kicks Patrick and Guy out of the kitchen. It is time for Danielle to redeem herself on the pork, as she sends up another pork. Chef Ramsay sends it back raw again and Danielle is kicked out. Clemenza and Justin attempt to make pork for the Blue Team and Justin sends the pork too early, even though Clemenza says not to send it out. It's raw and Chef Ramsay kicks Clemenza and Justin out of the kitchen.

To make sure she has her chicken done, Barbie decides to use a thermometer to make sure it is fully kicked. Chef Ramsay sees her and says they do not use thermometers in this kitchen and kicks her out. Tiffany says Barbie is dumb because cooking a breast of chicken is as easy as taking a shit. Tiffany then proceeds to burn mashed potatoes and gets kicked out...mashed potatoes are harder than taking a shit? For the Blue Team, they send out burnt chicken and Royce is kicked out of the kitchen. The leaves Brian and Roshni for the Blue Team and they finish dinner service successfully, as do the four members remaining on the Red Team.

After a crap dinner service, Chef Ramsay says both teams are the losing team and must nominate two chefs. The Blue want to nominate Patrick, who is not happy about it and the Red Team struggle between nominating Kimmie, Danielle and Barbie. For the Blue Team, the nominees are Patrick and Guy. For the Red Team, the nominees are Barbie and Danielle. They step forward and defend themselves one more time. Barbie feels she is not the weakest chef and Chef Ramsay agrees and she is sent back. That leaves us with Danielle, Patrick and Guy and the dreaded "To Be Continued" words hit the screen...I guess we will find out next time who survives.
