Hell's Kitchen Season 10

by Todd Betzold

Eighteen new hopeful chefs entered Hell's Kitchen last night, as Gordon Ramsay searches for his new head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Vegas...both the Red and Blue Team were unable to finish the dinner service on night one...how will the teams fare on night two?

The Blue Team (Men) comes back from elimination all out-of-sync and the Red Team (Women) comes back feeling good. The chefs get woken up by some rappers early in the morning to meet Chef Ramsay outside for their next challenge. Behind the big truck are two huge piles of ice...they must dig through the ice mounds and find all their teams scallops.

After finding all their scallops and freezing in the process (Royce had a scallop hit him in the face and cut his nose open), the teams head back to Hell's Kitchen. The challenge this morning will be to shuck, clean and cook as many properly-cooked orders of scallops as they can. Chef Ramsay gives them a presentation on how to properly do all the steps to make the scallops correct. The teams will be work in pairs of two...the first team to create six plates wins.

The Red Team tries to work properly and get the plates done properly, while the Blue Team is trying to bring their plates up quickly. The Blue Team brings up a plate quickly and it is not done properly...no points. The Red Team (Barbie and Tiffany) bring up a correct plate...one point for the women. Another attempt by the Blue Team fails, but then the Red Team (Dana and Robyn) bring up another successful plate of scallops...2-0 lead for the Red Team.

The Blue Team still struggle to get one point as the Red Team rack up point after point and take a 5-0 lead. Guy and Royce finally get the Blue Team on the board, as they bring up a successful plate. They keep it going and bring up a successful plate of scallops and bring it back to 5-2. Barbie and Tiffany bring up the final successful plate, as the Red Team wins 6-2...that's two wins in a row for the Red Team.

For winning the challenge, the Red Team will be traveling to Catalina on a yacht with Chef Ramsay...what a victory! After losing, the Blue Team will have to clean up the kitchen and all the mess from the ice outside...it must be cleaned to a T and then they will be in charge of the prep for the that is arriving.

While the Red Team gets to enjoy the drinks and boat, the Blue Team gets to enjoy shakes made from the scallops that they didn't cook properly...three hours old...yummy! The Red Team gets to enjoy some zip lining...Roshni got caught in the middle of the air...it was hilarious as she freaked out.

It's a new day and time for the second dinner service...the Blue Team seems to be united again, but the Red Team has some tension between them. Robyn and Barbie are battling it out and the dinner service hasn't even started!

Chef Ramsay arrives and says it is all about redemption and pride tonight, after their horrible first dinner service. In addition to the regular Hell's Kitchen dinner menu, Chef Ramsay has added a tableside service of shrimp scampi. Providing the tableside service for the Red Team is Christina and for the Blue Team is Brian, to which he starts out not being able to find the right table.

As Don works on the pizzas, he gets overwhelmed and nervous working around Chef Ramsay...he sends out a raw and burnt pizza. For the Red Team, Kimmie sends out perfect pizzas, but to keep the appetizers going strong they have Briana working on the risotto. Chef Ramsay calls the Red Team over and says that there are three risottos on the same table and they have three different colors...Briana gets called out.

In the Blue kitchen, Guy is determined to make a perfect risotto...he sends it out and Chef Ramsay says it is perfect. This starts a streak of good news for the Blue Team as they start sending out more and more appetizers...until raw appetizers are discovered in the dining room. Chef Ramsay calls Brian back to the kitchen and he gets called out for making a raw and burnt shrimp scampi on the same plate.

We are now 45 minutes into the dinner service and the Red Team has yet to serve an appetizer. Barbie shined in the scallops challenge, but while making them for the dinner service she only makes eight scallops for two plates...it needs to be five on each plate. She finally gets it correct. Meanwhile, Chris is trying to figure out how to make four plates of scallops for the Blue Team...he can't figure out how to work the numbers. He got the correct number of scallops, but he overcooked them and the Chef Ramsay makes them eat all of the overcooked scallops.

The scallops seem to be a challenge for both teams, as the Red Team overcooks the scallops as well. Justin tries to help get the scallops out for the Blue Team and Chef Ramsay goes off on them for having six men cook the scallops...they send out a plate and it is correct...finally!

The teams finish up the appetizers and are now working on the entrees. For the Red Team, Barbie and Robyn get into it over timing for their bass and lamb. After some arguing, Barbie sends out an overcooked bass and Robyn sends out a raw lamb...Chef Ramsay is not happy. They regroup and try it again.

After Chris fails with the scallops for the Blue Team, he tries to redeem himself with the entrée...he sends out a raw plate...not so well. Royce sends out bland mashed potatoes...Chef Ramsay is ticked.

We are now two hours into dinner service and no entrees have been served. After failing again to send out cooked food, Chef Ramsay kicks the whole Red Team out of the kitchen and the claws come out...Robyn and Barbie go off on each other...Tiffany loses it and just starts screaming and flinging things...everyone is a bitch.

Meanwhile, the Blue Team tries to send out their first attempt at the entrée...they send out an overcooked steak and Chef Ramsay kicks the whole Blue Team out of the kitchen. He meets with the teams and the losing team tonight...both the Red Team and Blue Team. They both have to send two chefs to be eliminated.

For the Blue Team, Chris steps up to be one of the two. For the Red Team, they all want Barbie to go home so she is nominated. They don't think anyone else is worthy of going home besides Barbie, so they nominate Roshni because she should be safe. The Blue Team argues on who to nominate for the second chef...they battle between Don and Royce.

Back to the kitchen and the Red Team nominates Barbie and Roshni and the Blue Team nominates Chris and Royce. Chef Ramsay asks all four of them to step forward and they fight to stay in Hell's Kitchen. Barbie said Robyn and Kimmie are the worst chefs on the Red Team...Kimmie brings down the team morale. Chef Ramsay decides that Roshni and Royce can go back in line...that leaves us with Barbie and Chris. He sends Barbie back in line (Robyn and Kimmie looked pissed) and Chris is going home.
