Survivor: One World - Reunion

by Gina Scarpa

On last night's season finale of Survivor: One World, bridal shop owner Kim Spradlin was named the million dollars winner. She dominated the second half of the game, winning four immunity challenges. That puts her in the company of players like Jenna Morasca (Amazon) and Kelly Wigglesworth (Borneo). Though winning those were big, Jeff says her smartest strategy was getting the guys to vote one another off. True story!

Early in the game, the men gave up immunity to vote out Bill. Mike says that he and Jay were the only two who didn't want to go and Tarzan stands by the decision of the original Manono tribe. (I still think it was stupid.)

So what is it about Kim? Chelsea calls her very endearing and says that you really do believe everything she says. Clearly. Sabrina is glad the women were able to stick together and go up against weaker men in the end. I'll have to disagree on that one. Even Tarzan gave people a run for their money in those later challenges. Troyzan felt everyone played in fear and just wanted to feel comfortable so they were willing to believe anything Kim said.

Some players definitely learned a lot about themselves in looking back at the game, some more than others. Jonas wished that he didn't fly under the radar and made bigger moves. It's like Jeff said: you have to make big moves to win this game. It's the risk you take. Colton was uncomfortable watching himself, which is good, since we were uncomfortable watching him call Bill "ghetto trash" and Leif a "munchkin". Colton's mom stands up to say that he's a good kid, but she's not proud of the way he acted. She even offers up an apology on his behalf.

Well, everyone may not be a Colton fan but Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik sure is. You heard me. She wrote to Probst over a year ago, professing her love for the game and asking to attend a finale. Well, here she is, saying Colton is fabulous and wished she got to see his storyline fully unravel. She'd tune in to see him play again. Hmm, I feel foreshadowing...

Tarzan says he's a damn good surgeon and admits to playing everyone the entire time, then throws around a bunch of big words that none of us understood. Kat may have come across as goofy but she feels that was 100% who she was, and says she's always happy. Well, unless she's sulking on a jury at tribal council. Alicia takes some heat for her comment earlier in the season, where she compared Christina to one of her special needs students. Yeah, that may have gone down as the worst statement ever and that's saying a lot, given the fact that Colton was on this season. She gets very emotional and apologizes, saying she crossed the line. Just a bit. Christina seems like she's moved past it and the two hug, ending things on a fairly positive note.

The only thing left to do is name the Sprint Player of the Game. Anyone else still wish it was Fan Favorite? It came down to Kim, Tarzan, Troyzan, and Chelsea but come on. Kim is the winner, hands down. You don't need to look so shocked. You know you played an awesome game.

And with that, we look ahead to Season 25 - can you believe it? Three players who were previously medically evacuated from the game will return for their second chance to outwit, outplay, and outlast but they'll have to make it through a crop of new players as well. I knew we'd see Colton again...
