The Voice Season 2: Live Quarterfinals

by Todd Betzold

If you haven't heard...maybe you missed it with all the screams coming from the teenage girls, but Justin Bieber AND The Wanted will be performing tonight on The Voice...oh and we will have more eliminations while we are at it.

For the three remaining singers on Team Blake and Team Christina, we will find out who America gave the most votes to and saved for each team...then the remaining two singers will sing their last chance song and battle it out for their coach with the coach saving one of them. So, four singers moving on to the semifinals tonight and two more packing their bags and heading home.

The show kicks off with a performance by The Wanted singing their new single, "Chasing The Sun." They are "joined" by Team Blake, but they really do nothing but make an appearance at the end.

Time for some results...up first is Team Christina. The singer that America saved is Chris Mann (this is one many people said should have went home last night, but his Mann Fans went out and voted for him). So, that leaves Ashley De La Rosa and Lindsey Pavao to sing one more time to show Christina she should save them. I think it will be Lindsey, but I guess you never know with Christina.

Now time for Team Blake...the singer that America saved is Jermaine Paul (with big claps from Erin Willett). So, that leaves Erin and RaeLynn to sing for Blake to save one of them. I am thinking he will stick with country and save RaeLynn because he seems to love her, but we shall see.

The last chance performances begin with Team Christina:

Ashley De La Rosa - "You And I" by Lady Gaga
So, apparently Ashley only likes to bring it big time for her last chance song. She sang it amazingly well and it was fun. Adam wasn't a fan of the performance, but regardless of the performance he would keep her on his team. Blake said it's hard to say without seeing Lindsey yet, but he would buy an Ashley CD over a Lindsey CD.

Lindsey Pavao - "Please Don't Go" by Mike Posner
I just love her and how she makes the song so much a Lindsey song. She does excellent and shows some big emotion and breaks down at the end in tears, which brings tears to Christina's eyes. Cee Lo said he sees so much charm in her. Blake said there is something so mysterious about her that it draws people in, but he's still gotta stick with what he said before.

And by the screams from the crowd...here comes Bieber Fever. He premieres a clip from his "Boyfriend" video...all the hype and we get like 20 seconds of the video...lame. He then tells Carson he will sing "Boyfriend" for the first time on television during the live finale of The Voice and his new album comes out June 19 and then Justin leaves...well, that was a lot of hype for a short cameo.

Who will Christina save? Time to find out...Christina brings on the tears again. She has a connection with Lindsey's voice and Ashley is a superstar. She has to go with her heart and she goes with Lindsey...I knew it. She does great on iTunes and I think she will do great moving on. So, we say goodbye to Ashley De La Rosa tonight.

After a look at Blake and his team performing together at an

Erin Willett - "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner
Love this song and love her...this could be amazing. And I got goosebumps...this was so fun and amazing...love this girl and she can perform. Christina said she loved her spirit and her energy...an amazing effort being in the bottom two right now.

RaeLynn - "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry
Love this song also...ugh. She is a good country singer...she has a weird tone to her vocals. She is off on a couple notes. I think she is good, but I feel Erin was way better. Adam said it wasn't a favorite of hers for him, but he thinks she is great.

Who will Blake save? I'm hoping Erin, but he may go with the country and RaeLynn. He said even as he sits there he doesn't know. He loves both of them and he has a bond with both of them for different reasons. Being rushed by Carson to give an answer...maybe they shouldn't have so many performances and get to the point of the show, but in the end he saves Erin (yay), so RaeLynn is headed home.

To sum it up...moving on to the semifinals for Team Christina are Chris Mann and Lindsey Pavao and for Team Blake are Jermaine Paul and Erin Willett.
