For weeks, I have been anxiously waiting to find out what happened when the contestants walked off the set of The Biggest Loser. The production crew is up in arms because the final five are nowhere to be found. Executive Producer Joel Relampagos rounds up Bob and Dolvett and everyone finally meets up by the pool. The contestants won't talk, except to say that it has nothing to do with the trainers and everything to do with a twist that would bring back eliminated players to compete for a spot in the finale.
A lawyer is brought in to meet with each of the contestants and even Alison steps in to try to convince people that they're making a mistake by walking off the show. Each player signed a contract beforehand that clearly explained the eliminated player twist, so it doesn't seem fair for them to act so surprised right now and put the season in jeopardy. In the end, Mark and Buddy decide that they need to stand by their convictions and leave. They're walking away from The Biggest Loser community and I can't imagine they'll ever be brought back for an update or as a success story for future contestants to learn from. It's really unfortunate...
The remaining three players (Jeremy, Conda, and Kim) meet up with Alison to learn what happens next. The winner of the upcoming weigh-in will receive a 2013 Ford Escape, while the loser will automatically fall below the red line and be eliminated right before the finale. I was totally expecting that they would reward all three with a spot in the finale but, at the end of the day, this is still a competition.
After grueling workouts with the trainers, the final three are shown videos of their journey throughout the competition. It really hits home to them just how far they've come and reaffirms in their minds that they are meant to be on the ranch, getting healthy, and changing their lives. Then, it's time to face the scale and here's how the number went down.
Conda: -10
Kim: -15
Jeremy: -10
Now, I've been watching The Biggest Loser since the first season and it is absolutely shocking to me that Conda and Kim both dropped double digits so late in the game. Kim's number, in particular, is insane. Still, she earned her spot in the finale and got that Ford Escape as well. She definitely battled hard for weeks, with no true alliance member, and made it to the end. Kudos to her!
Jeremy falls below the red line but instead of sending him out the door, Alison invites in 14 eliminated contestants and he'll have to face off against them to make it to the end. So there's still hope!
