The Top 7 got to take on some current hits last night on American Idol as they took on songs released from 2010 to today...it was a fun show and some great performances, but we are back at elimination night...someone has to go home.

We start out with a fun performance by the Top 7, as they sing Pink's "Raise Your Glass." This was cute...good to see them just have fun. Ryan takes a look at tweets and fan mail and Colton got an invite to prom, Hollie an invite to a spring formal and Elise some feather jewelry.

Now to the results: first up are Hollie Cavanagh and Jessica Sanchez (this seems obvious, but you never know with Idol). Ugh...we start with this Hollie you start a group on the right and Jessica you start a group on the left. Then to put three on each side and then the seventh person join the group they think is safe. So, we won't know the bottom three until late in the show.

Now time for a performance from last season's James Durbin...he rocks it out up there. Now back to the results: Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone. Jimmy says they both should be in the bottom three...how is that going to work? Phillip joins Hollie and Elise joins Jessica...in my mind, Phillip and Hollie in bottom three (which is what I picked).

It is time for a return visit from Season 3 contestant Jennifer Hudson, as she hits the stage in a performance with NeYo. Now back to the results: Colton Dixon and Joshua Ledet. Jimmy says they both should be safe this week. Joshua joins Jessica and Elise and Colton joins Hollie and Phillip. Skylar Laine is the only one left, so we take a look at her. Jimmy thinks it should be Hollie, Phillip and Elise in the bottom three. So, Skylar is safe...Ryan asks her to join the group she belongs to and she says no and goes back and sits down.

Now time for the big shocker...he takes Skylar to the group she belongs with and she joins Hollie, Phillip and Colton...the four of them are safe! WHAT? So, the bottom three this week is Joshua, Elise and Jessica (can we say the judges are using the save this week for sure)! Everyone is in shock in the audience...who is it going to be? Joshua is safe, so Elise and Jessica in the bottom two...the person in danger of going home is JESSICA....what???? Well, might as well not even sing...the save is being used for sure, otherwise the judges are crazy. Well, like five notes into the song the judges storm the stage and cut her off and say she is safe...so, no one goes home tonight...Randy says she is the best and pleads for America to vote for her. Do you think it was staged just so they could use the save finally?

American Idol airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
