The Voice Season 2

by Todd Betzold

Last night on The Voice, we saw Team Christina and Team Blake perform for America and their votes. Two singers from each team will be going home tonight...who will it be?

Here is how it works tonight: the three singers with the most votes on each team will be safe and move on. The bottom three singers from each team will get one more chance to sing for their coaches and the coaches get to save one...they will move on and the other two will be packing their bags and heading home...got it?

After a performance by Gym Class Heroes joined by Team Adam, we get to see Blake taking his team to Go Country radio station and giving them some words of wisdom. Now time for the results...the three artists that are safe: Erin Willett (bring on the tears, as they show her Mom in the audience blowing her kisses and knowing her Dad is watching over her from up above), Jermaine Paul (that's a given...he's a heavy favorite to win) and RaeLynn (the country fans loved her). So, Charlotte Sometimes, Jordis Unga and

Naia Kete will have one more chance to sing and show Blake why they deserve to stay.

Now time for Team Christina, as Christina takes them to The Tonight Show and they get some words of advice from Christina and Jay Leno. Now to the results...the three artists safe: Jesse Campbell (another heavy favorite to win), Lindsey Pavao (she did well on iTunes) and Chris Mann (a little shocked, but loved his performance). That leaves Sera Hill (I think she is safe), Moses Stone (I kinda want him to stay though) and Ashley De La Rosa.

Now time for the performances to sing for their lives...up first, Team Blake:

Naia Kete - "If I Were A Boy" by Beyonce
I love her unique voice and style, but I am not sure if it is strong enough to stack up to the others...good job and she looks beautiful. Blake wanted her to sing reggae, but she said they wouldn't let her...only so many songs to choose from.

Charlotte Sometimes - "Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls
Again, I think she looks beautiful tonight and does a decent job, but it seemed lacking compared to others in the competition. I think it is Jordis' to take.

Jordis Unga - "Wild Horses" by The Rolling Stones
She had the number one song on the rock charts of iTunes for a reason...people like her and want to hear her. This performance was amazing and I think way above the other two...he better choose her.

Now it is time for Blake to make his decision...before that the other coaches get to give their input. They all agree with me and choose Jordis, but will Blake? He loves all three of them, they are nothing alike and basing it on what he just saw, he picks Jordis, so she will be moving on and Charlotte and Naia will be going home.

Now time for Team Christina to perform:

Ashley De La Rosa - "Paris (Ooh La La)" by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
She hasn't been shown a lot this whole season and that was an excellent performance...I really liked it, but with having to compete against Sera, I think she is up against a rock and a hard place.

Sera Hill - "Vision Of Love" by Mariah Carey
I like Sera, a lot...but she seemed so emotionless during this performance. She sang it well, but you are fighting for your life...bring out the motion and show Christina you want this.

Moses Stone - "Breakeven (Falling To Pieces)" by The Script
I like him rapping and his style, but I think the real singing last night and tonight will hurt him...stick to what you know.

Now time for Christina to make her decision...the other coaches choices are Ashley for Blake and Adam and Cee Lo would save Sera. I think Ashley sang the best and should be saved, but will Christina go with her? And in a big shocker, Christina chooses Ashley, so Moses and Sera will be going home (I thought Sera would go far).

To sum it up, moving on for Team Blake are Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul, RaeLynn and Jordis Unga and for Team Christina are Lindsey Pavao, Chris Mann, Jesse Campbell and Ashley De La Rosa.

The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
