"Sacrificed Mayan Spirits: Belize"

Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins - San Ignacio, Belize

This ancient Mayan city dates back to 1200 B.C., and what is left stranding happens to be the structures where violent bloodletting rituals and human sacrifice were performed.  As many as 20,000 had lived in the city so you know there had to be a few people in the mix who the town didn't mind offering up to the Gods.  A man named Pedro Cruz has asked GHI to find out if the spirits of the city are attached to him due to the amount of time he has spent around the area, including a situation in which a woman he brought to the site getting possessed.  Ladies, he's single. People have heard tribal chants, an apparition of a "lady in a white dress" has been seen, and people are said to be vulnerable to possession when visiting the ancient city.  Dark roaming shadows in various sizes have also been seen in the tunnels, courtyards, and the remaining structures.

While the team was setting up an area so they could perform an ancient bloodletting ritual to attract Mayan spirits, various team members were seeing shadow figures.  As they settled in, Susan Slaughter volunteered to share some of her blood for the ritual...and that's why they made her a full time team member this season.  This whole event may have been one of the most interesting techniques they've ever used to instigate some paranormal activity.

Their guide Pedro led the ritual while Joe Chin and Kris Williams chased around noises that sounded like growls, keeping a solid distance from the event.  Something touched Joe in the back and he seemed quite rattled for an experienced investigator.  This was followed by Scott Tepperman saying that something was scratching his neck and the pain continued on.  Paul Bradford took a spot up in the area where actual human sacrifices were performed to video tape the event from a distance.  He encountered a high pitched woman's voice on a couple of occasions and no other team member was close to him.

The team finished their ritual and turned into zombies, but this was only temporary.  They split up to do a full investigation of the area.  Scott and Joe used some antagonistic banter to rile up the ancient spirits and they began getting a lot of activity on their instruments followed by some hollowed voices in the distance.  Joe then said the saw an old woman's face come and go when he turned his head.   Voices continued to get their attention.

Paul and Susan followed around Pedro as he tried to do his best to find out why his lady friend got possessed, actively initiating his own EVP session.  Pedro continued to use ancient techniques to try and communicate with the ancient spirits.  Both Paul and Pedro started to feel a warm, electrical surge in their bodies.

One excellent EVP was recorded saying "Pedro Not Here," when Joe and Scott were asking questions to the dead.  So yes, something does seem to be attached to Pedro although he did not seem alarmed.  The team had plenty of personal experiences throughout the night and there does seem to be a paranormal energy that lives in these ancient ruins.
