Things pick up in Argentina for the second leg of The Amazing Race. Dave and Rachel, who are in first place, head off to Cafayate Town Square and await a postman (called a chasqui) to give them their next clue. Unfortunately for them though, their lead is lost because the postman doesn't arrive until sunrise and it's about 2am right now.

It's mad dash for the chasqui and teams face a Detour: Boil My Water or Light My Fire. In Boil My Water, they must assemble a solar kitchen, place it in direct sunlight, and boil a teakettle of water. In Light My Fire, they take clay and bring it one mile via donkey to a pottery workshop. Light My Fire SEEMS easier but remember one of the golden rules of The Amazing Race: never work with animals.

Art and JJ are the only team that decides on Light My Fire but they can't find it so they drive around aimlessly - when the solar panel challenge is literally right there! Equally having trouble are clowns Dave and Cherie who FINALLY realize that there's a picture on the side of the solar panel box to help them. Mark and Bopper (one of my favorites) finish first and are off to Buenos Aires to Mercado de Hacienda de Liniers.

That's an 18 hour bus ride from where they are. Rough. Art and JJ make a huge comeback and are now in second, with Dave and Rachel in third. Nary and Jamie, the federal agents (er, "teachers) wait for what seems like forever for their kettle to boil and fall to the bottom of the pack.

The second bus has a window that shatters, causing a delay in the trip for Dave and Cherie, Vanessa and Ralph, Elliot and Andrew, and Joey and Danny.

When the first group arrives, it's time for a Road Block, where one team member has to count cattle and divide that number by their weight to come up with an average during a live cattle auction. Are you as confused as I am? Rachel (of Dave and Rachel) teams up with JJ and come up with the correct answer first. The other Rachel breaks down so Mark works with her and they head off next. Meanwhile, the third bus carrying Nary and Jamie and Kerri and Stacy arrives before the second bus with the busted window.

The only place left to go is El Gomero, the pit stop for this leg of the race. Dave and Rachel do it again, arriving first on the mat and this time, they win a trip to Grenada. Next to arrive is Art and JJ, followed by Bopper and Mark, Brendon and Rachel, and Kerri and Stacy.  The rest of the teams arrive in the following order: Nary and Jamie, Vanessa and Ralph, Joey and Danny, and Elliot and Andrew.  Last to arrive are Dave and Cherie - nobody was out to help Dave finish that cattle challenge and the clowns are headed home.
