Ghost Hunters Season 8

"City Hell"

Well, let's get the big news out of the way first.  TAPS co-founder Grant Wilson is leaving TAPS and the show due to an unstated reason.  He did mention the stress of the job and since nothing was said we can only speculate that Grant has items to get back in order in his personal life.  This doesn't mean the show can't go on, but it is going to lose one of the long running leaders that is simply easy to like.

Providence City Hall - Providence, Rhode Island

The city hall is over 200 years old and every piece of the building looks like a flash from the past, but in a nostalgic kind of way.   Although no longer the tallest building in town, its architecture makes it one of the most interesting buildings in Providence and certainly carries a history of generations of local families.  Former mayor Thomas Arthur Doyle is actually laid to rest in the hall and many believe it is his ghost that is often seen around the building.  People feel uneasy at times and believe they are hearing their name screamed out.   Workers are being touched on the shoulders and some report feeling a brush of cold air suddenly go past them.  One person witnessed a swivel chair rock back and forth.  The buildings elevator tends to operate by itself, possibly being one of the worst nightmares a person can imagine.  Something is just not right at the city's oldest government building.

Britt Griffith would join TAPS co founder Jason Hawes as the first to enter the building.  Their K2 meter was registering very high electromagnetic readings in the top floor room called the "Dome Rome" or as others call it, the "Panic Room," because of the fear they seem to have while in there.  It's used mostly as an attic so workers only go up there when they have too.  Jason was pretty convinced that these high EMF readings were playing with people's minds....and the fact that it looked like the scariest attic one has ever seen.  Steve joined Jason in the City Council Room where they heard somebody whistle, as if someone was trying to get their attention.  This was followed by what sounded like people talking out in the hall.  They immediately tried to make a connection with former Mayor Thomas Doyle.  Another male voice came out of nowhere and when they played their audio recorder back, a woman's voice was also capture.  The voices seemed to say "Somebody help me!"  Dave Tango joined Steve in the Council Room to see if they can get a feel for what may be causing one particular chair to move on its own.  What they found was that once somebody gets off the chair, it tends to rise and swivel on its own just due to the way the chair functions with its springs.

Amy Bruni and Adam Berry decided to take the "ghost" elevator up to the 5th floor, unfortunately the elevator decided to lock itself shut once they reached the 5th floor and the rest of the team had to pry open the doors to get them out.  They did make it to the archive room where they were greeted by a nudge or kick to one of the book cases they were standing next to.

TAPS felt there was paranormal activity but not enough to officially call it haunted.

Burson House - Farmington, New York

The Burson family has been dealing with loud crashes, furniture moving, voices, footsteps, and a baby crying or giggling.  When their grandson comes to visit he says that he sees "a man with a big hat" and a small baby.  A former slave named Cassie Waters killed her young child in the house because she did not want the child to become a slave one day.  This tragic event might have very well left a horrible spiritual stench attached to the house.  So who is the man with the big hat and is Cassie Waters and her baby haunting the house?

Grant Wilson and Jason were the first to enter the house.  As they called for Cassie Waters, they heard what sounded like somebody moving furniture.  Their K2 meter started responding every time they brought up Cassie's name.

The rest of the team did not seem to have any experiences but Grant and Jason believed that the Burson's were dealing with an intelligent ghost that did seem to respond to human interaction.  They told the family to speak out and let the spirits know that it was there house and that they needed to leave the family, especially the young grandson, alone and allow them to live in peace.
