It's going to be a walk in the park for the designers on this week's episode of Project Runway All Stars.
As the designers meet Angela in Central Park, they find out this week's challenge: find a muse in the park and use the clothing off their back to create a new look. They'll have a $150 budget and can use that money to convince their muse for their clothing and the rest to buy material at Mood. Also, half of their new look must come from the clothing of the muse.
The designers run off into the park to find their muse in 30 minutes. Some of the designers, Anthony and Mila, used their personalities and found a muse right away. Others struggled, Kenley and Kara, to find a muse but they all did in the end.
To keep it entertaining, and you knew this was going to happen, Anthony found a very sexy man in just jean shorts and asked him to strip down. The guy, of course, strips down and the crowd goes crazy...good job Anthony.
Then the designers head over to Mood to get some material. Needing to have at least 50% of the look from the clothes they got from the park, Jerell doesn't want to risk it and possibly use more material then needed and buys no material. The rest of the designers struggled with money because they had to pay the people in the park for their clothes...the designers helped Kara pay for her bill, as she was a few dollars short. It was good to see them working together to meet their goal.
Michael struggles to come up with a look and is feeling no inspiration with this challenge, even though he came into this winning the previous two challenges...it may also be the pressure from having to keep up that momentum.
Day 2 of challenge and Anthony is having issues trying to piece together a wonderful look from all the clothing he got in the park. Jerell is going skimpy with his look, as that is what he saw in the park and he wants to keep with that...don't make it slutty though!
Joanna comes in for what I'm sure will be another uninspiring visit. She thinks Mondo might be able to win this challenge. Jerell seems to be throwing all random stuff together and she hates it. Anthony still is lost on what he is going to do and Joanna thinks Michael's look is doily and amateurish. Anthony finally gets his stuff together at the end of day 2. He makes some amazing pants and is very happy with himself.
Morning before runway and as everyone is trying to get their outfits finished, Kenley decides to give everyone advice on how to complete their look. She then proceeds to help Kara sew and finish the pants for her outfit...the other designers are shocked. Why would she help her competitor?
And it is runway time: judges this week will be Angela, Georgina, Isaac and guest judge NHL star and fashion trendsetter Sean Avery. My likes this week: Austin (very badass), Rami (a good look) and Anthony (loved the pants). My dislikes: Kara (too boring), Jerell (I don't even know what he put together) and Kenley (way too many stripes).
Well, the women are all safe this week (there goes two of my dislikes). That leaves us with all the men in the top and bottom three. We get good reviews for Rami, Mondo and Austin (Mondo seems like an early favorite). No love for Michael and Jerell (I think Jerell may be headed home). Anthony got good reviews, but he may not have met the criteria of using 50% of the clothing from the muse.
And we are back with the results...Rami is safe, so that leaves Mondo as the winner of this challenge and Austin is safe. To my surprise, Jerell is safe, so we are down to Michael (his very revealing outfit) and Anthony (no real inspiration from his muse). Michael is safe, so Anthony will be going home...I'm sad to see him and his personality go home...he was fun to watch!
