Dolvett Quince from The Biggest Loser 13

Tomorrow night, ten new teams will step onto The Biggest Loser ranch to a rude awakening: they will have to separate from their partner and compete against them. Trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince have heard just about every excuse in the book as to why someone has let go of their health and these players won't be able to use any of them this season. Today, we talked to Dolvett in an exclusive interview to learn more about his return to The Biggest Loser, being competitive with Bob, and what the fans think of him.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You must have been pumped when The Biggest Loser asked you to return this season.
A. Dolvett: You know it's funny because I was extremely pumped but I've known for some time. I really couldn't make the announcement that I'd be returning. It was definitely exciting for them to have me back for another season and hopefully, seasons to come. Prior to Jillian Michaels, there has never another returning trainer.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You and Bob are both competitive guys - did that kick up a notch now that there are only two of you facing off, not three? It's either his person, or yours, that's going to win.
A. Dolvett: Absolutely it did. I came into this show to train these people and help them lose weight. But this season, it's mano e mano. It's me vs. Bob now.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: This season's theme is "No Excuses". Is the biggest excuse you get from people that they don't have enough time?
A. Dolvett: That is one of the largest excuses. People always say: I can't do this, I got work, I gotta meet friends... nobody ever takes times out for themselves.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: That first workout for the contestants is always so brutal. Is there a part of you that feels bad watching them barely get through it?
A. Dolvett: I think tough the whole time. I feel bad that they let themselves get this far off. There's no empathy for me there. You gotta destroy to rebuild. No... relentless.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: One thing The Biggest Loser has taught people is that you have to change from the inside out. Why is that so important?
A. Dolvett: I think mentally, there's something psychologically going on that makes you choose gluttony and choose food. I've met food addicts. When you deal with addiction, someone who leans on food at that level, there's some mental issues that needs to be addressed. We have to lose weight mentally in order to tackle the weight physically.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You were obviously very close with your own team last season and then later, developed a bond with John as well. Did the strong personal connections you made on the ranch surprise you?
A. Dolvett: No, not at all. I love what I do. So when you love something, you give it your all. That connection is going to organically happen.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you follow what the fans are saying about you and what their reaction has been to you returning for another season?
A. Dolvett: That's amazing to watch and listen to! It's been fantastic. Fans are so authentic. The funniest ones I get when the husbands say that I can go train their wives and they won't be jealous. People say things like, "Come to Canada and train me!" I got one from Australia the other day. It's just so broad.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What makes this season so different from others in the past?
A. Dolvett: The different thing is that there's no excuses. I like the ideas of couples coming up but being separated to go against each other. That's the ultimate twist. You don't have your enabler with you. You're competing against them.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: They must not have liked that...
A. Dolvett: Oh no! They did not like that!
