The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 4

By Mike Bandy

Kroy Jr.'s birthday is finally here! We began the show with Kim and Kroy on the way to the doctor to see whether or not Kim would be induced. Bad news from Dr. Hood (HA! Dr. Hood...) - Kim has preeclampsia, which is high blood pressure due to the pregnancy. She's at 37 and a half weeks, a bit early, but the doctor said she was ready to go. Off to the hospital went the nervous couple, arguing along the way about the proper way to show nervousness.

Meanwhile, Cynthia managed to break away from NeNe for two second...oh wait. She's packing for a trip to NY with NeNe. Cynthia is going to have meetings while she's in New York, specifically one with Russell Simmons. She actually dated him when she was 18. More on this later.

Next, we saw Sheree and her mother at the job site for her new house, which is now just a hole in the ground. Sheree told her mom about meeting with Bob about child support, and she's trying to avoid taking him to court because she doesn't want the media around it. Sheree's mother shared that when Sheree was 7, her mother separated from her father, and he didn't pay child support. She took him to court and won. She said that Sheree doesn't want the same situation with her kids like she had with her dad. Sheree, with the insistence of her mother, decided at that moment to take Bob to court. I hope she gets what she's looking for!

Meanwhile, Cynthia and NeNe arrived in New York, to take care of business...but what was the business exactly? Neither of them could seem to come up with a good story as to what they were really doing there. Apparently, Cynthia has that meeting with Russell Simmons, and NeNe is meeting with her "business partner" to discuss something. It wasn't until later that we found out exactly what...

Hey, we got to see Phaedra in court, and now I'm convinced that she's not a real attorney. First of all, her client was late, showed up unkempt, and then in front of the judge basically admitted to smoking weed. The judge gave him leniency because Phaedra was putting her name and reputation on him, but if he messes up, it's off to jail. Then in the parking lot, Phaedra discovered that he'd lied about having tints on his windows, right before he paid her her lawyer's fees in CASH, from a wad he had presumably pulled out of the glove compartment. Do all lawyers do business like this? How well will she handle Sheree?!

Then it was time for Cynthia's meeting with Russell Simmons, and it was all over the place. She was trying to get him to say he wanted to do a model search for his company, spearheaded by her, but all he wanted to talk about was how good she looked, and how she should open up her school to all facets of the industry. There was so much fast talking I could barely keep track of it all, but to summarize - Russell would ask Cynthia out if she were single. Big surprise, I know.

Kim and Kroy arrived to the hospital, and as she was hooked up to IVs and getting ready to bring life into the world, the nurse asked about her medical history. Did you SEE her face when the nurse asked if she was a smoker and she said no?! You're a terrible liar, Kim! Anyway, they began to induce her labor and give her an epidural, and it looked like things were moving along nicely, when...

We cut to Kandi dressing up Mama Joyce for a photo shoot for a senior dating website. The woman is in her 60s, and when Kandi got her all gussied up and had her pose on the hood of a car, it could have gone either very tastefully, or very...not so much. Thankfully, Mama Joyce looked amazing, and I'm sure that there's gonna be a lot of men checking out her profile. Go ‘head, girl!

Then Sheree got served with papers from Bob, seeking modification of the child support he allegedly wasn't paying in the first place. Kyro, her son, received the papers when someone knocked, and then he sat there while Sheree called her mom and the two of them talked loudly about what a snake the boy's father was. I get that this is not a good situation for anybody, but that was a conversation that probably shouldn't have been had near or around her son. She talked with him afterwards, but things were rather awkward. I hope these kids are gonna be okay!

BAM! NeNe met up with her alleged business partner at a fancy NY restaurant to discuss opening "Lenethia's Lounge", which I'm sure will have a giant photo of her airbrushed head covering one wall the moment it opens. Anyway, the guy was telling her that she's a winner, she has passion, and she's willing to work for it, but hold on - didn't she QUIT the Apprentice?! Let's remember what really happened here, folks. The business meeting quickly turned into a date when the man began showering NeNe with gifts - first it was a pen from Tiffany's, so that she could sign her first million dollar deal. Then it was a pair of (apparently unpronounceable) Louboutin's that were OMG fantastic. I'm telling you, if I were a drag queen...

Then it got really interesting. There was an older dude from Italy singing to NeNe, and her "business partner" got emotional when he told her that the man hadn't sung in 9 years because his nephew had been killed in a car crash. The look on NeNe's face was priceless - I think it's the first time she looked like she didn't know what to say. Bravo - PLEASE give this man his own show! Anybody who can shut NeNe up like that deserves all the air time in the world!

Meanwhile, Cynthia strutted in to meet her stylist, Kithe, who had lost 82 pounds since we last saw him. They talked about the old days when Cynthia lived in NY, and she admitted that she regrets leaving. Kithe told her that whatever's missing from her life is keeping her from being vital, and that she's only her true self when she comes to NY. Sometimes it takes a good friend to point out things about you that are right in front of your face the whole time - could this mean that Cynthia might make a move back?

Back to the mom-to-be! Sweetie and the kids arrived at the hospital just as Kim's epidural was starting to kick in. It apparently wasn't working again, because she soon sent them away when the pain got worse. A series of censored swear words let us know that the big moment was indeed at hand...

Next thing we saw was little KJ (Kroy Jagger Biermann, Jr.) in his mother's arms, followed by a montage of the couple's relationship. The family all gathered together, and it was nice to see Kim in that role for a change - a doting mom and having the family she's always wanted. It's certainly a far cry from the days of Big Poppa.

Congratulations, Kim! KJ is sooo cute! Can't wait to see more of your little bundle of joy this season!

On a special Tuesday episode of the next RHOA, Phaedra apparently screws things up for Sheree in court. Uh oh...stay tuned!
