The Top 5 put on an amazing show last night on The X Factor, but America voted and one of them must go home tonight.
Lenny Kravitz gets the show rocking with a fun performance to kick off the show and then we get a look back at the performances last night. More postponing of results as we take a look at scenes from backstage last night...I want results Fox!
And we get to see the Top 5. Tonight it goes back to the way it started: the bottom two acts singing for survival. The first two acts moving on to the semifinals next week are Josh Krajcik (yay) and Chris Rene (ugh...this guy has some people out there voting, because I think he should have went home a week or two ago). After those results, I think we can say goodbye to Marcus.
That leaves us with Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty and my girl Rachel Crow, but before we get to their results we go to commercial break.
We come back to find them backstage and get a chance to see them all nervous and worried, but that means it is time for a performance from Mary J. Blige...love her, but give me results!
Back to the results...one will move straight to the semifinals next week and the other two will be singing for survival. Safe tonight is Melanie, so Marcus and Rachel will be singing for survival. This just ticks me off...Rachel is amazing and should be safe, not singing for survival...send home Chris!
Up first is Marcus and he sings amazingly and sings with a lot of emotion...it's so hard to see because I want Rachel to go through. I just can't see the judges saving Marcus three weeks in a row. Rachel hits the stage and she lays it all out on that stage and brought me to tears. This girl can sing and showed a ton of emotion on that song.
And here we go...time for the judges to vote on who they will be sending home. L.A. votes for Rachel (no shocker), Simon votes for Marcus (again, no shocker), Paula votes Marcus and Nicole (bring on the tears) votes Rachel, so it goes to deadlock because she didn't want to make the decision. We go back to America's vote and the act that got the lowest number of votes and leaving the competition is Rachel...and wow is all I can say. She started crying and I am a crying mess...so sad. She had the "x" factor they wanted and she got sent home...don't doubt Simon will sign her to a contract before the show is over.
The X Factor airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox.
