Survivor: South Pacific

by Gina Scarpa

While Brandon continues to be a liability on his tribe on Survivor: South Pacific, Mikayla and Christine fight just to stay in the game over on Redemption Island. In tonight's duel, they must arrange planks in the correct order in order to build a bridge, then take it apart and complete a puzzle. Christine goes 5-0 and continues her reign of the island... she's starting to give Matt, of last season, a run for his money!

Back at Savaii, Ozzy considers taking a gigantic risk. If his tribe loses the next challenge, he basically volunteers to go to Redemption, take out Christine, come back, reclaim the idol that he found, and make a run for the end. If he successfully pulls that off, how does he not win this game?

After meditating on the beaches of Upolu, Coach decides it's time to tell everyone that he has the idol and would like to use it for the good of the tribe. After pretending to find it, he parades it around camp and half the tribe is none the wiser that it's been in his possession for a little while now.

At the reward/immunity challenge, tribes adorn themselves with war paint and pair up to compete as twins. One set of twins act as callers and lead the other sets, who are blindfolded, through a course to collect bags of puzzle pieces to complete a series of masks. The winning tribe gets to see a sneak peak of the new Adam Sandler movie "Jack and Jill". That sounds more like a punishment for the losing team.

Coach reaches out to the big man upstairs to pray for a victory while Cochran conveniently hooks Ozzy wrong onto his rope, which slows down his tribe. That move basically costs Savaii the win and Upolu celebrates like they just won the Super Bowl. Ozzy pitches a fit, which partially involves karate kicking a wall - hilarious.

At Savaii, Cochran's nine lives finally seem to run out. With Ozzy solely blaming him for the loss, everyone jumps on the bandwagon to vote him out of the game. They give him a little pep talk about beating Christine, which we all know is never going to happen.

However, the next morning, Ozzy wakes up with the epiphany that it truly should be him who goes to Redemption Island but his tribe isn't totally sold on losing arguably their strongest members.  At tribal, Ozzy tells Jeff straight out that he's leaving tonight and his tribe grants him his wish.  This will truly be either one of the smartest or the dumbest moves in the history of the game.
