So You Think You Can Dance Season 8

by Gina Scarpa

The Top 6 start off this week's elimination episode of So You Think You Can Dance with a contemporary routine choreographed by Justin Giles. Nigel reveals that the judges will just go by America's vote and the bottom male and female dancer will leave the competition at the end of the night.

Each of the dancers perform a solo to remind America why they've made it this far. Sasha performs with a speed and power that is definitely impressive, Caitlynn's solo is full of leaps and turns, and Melanie continues to show that she's an actress as well as a dancer with an emotional piece. Tadd explodes onto the stage and into the audience with that charismatic personality we've all come to know and love, Marko dances straight from the heart to James Morrison (shoutout - love his music!), and Ricky shows off his strength and technique.

Last year's winner and runner-up Lauren and Kent return to perform their Travis Wall contemporary routine from last year - and it's still as good now as it was then!

Cat brings the girls out onto the stage to announce that the first person in the finale is... Melanie. She's been a favorite since day one so it's no surprise to anyone that she's made it to the very end. Next, the guys head out and find out that Melanie's first partner, Marko, has also made it in. But of course!

The Bad Boys of Dance hit the stage next to perform a number set to the "Tron: Legacy" soundtrack. There is no denying that their tricks are impressive but the routine as a whole didn't do much for me.

Afterwards, Cat reveals that Sasha had made it to the finale and Caitlynn is out. Before the guys can find out their fate, American Idol's Pia Toscano performs her new single, "This Time".  The final dancer to make it to the Top 4 is Tadd, which means that Ricky has been eliminated.

Don't miss the Top 4 perform in the finale of So You Think You Can Dance, Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX.
