Adam Royer from The Challenge: Rivals

It didn't take long on The Challenge: Rivals for two people to come to blows and one person to get kicked off. Surprisingly, though, it wasn't CT involved in the fight! During a night of partying at the house, Ty started with Adam and got punched in the face. Adam was removed from the challenge, leaving his partner Leroy to question his fate in the game. Today, we talked to Adam in an exclusive interview about getting kicked off of his second MTV show in a row.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: After you finished filming The Real World: Las Vegas, what was the status of your relationship with your roommates? Were you talking to any of them?
A. Adam: Yeah, I still talk to all my roommates except Nany.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When you found out that Leroy was your partner on Rivals, what was your reaction?
A. Adam: Leroy and I have really had our ups and downs. When we started filming that show, at the time, we were pretty cool. I was happy to be partnered up wtih him. It's someone that you know. We knew each other, we had lived together. At that point, we were pretty cool. I was pretty happy to have him as my partner.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: The rookies are always targeted first on these challenges but you and Leroy (and Jonna and Jasmine) performed so well. Did you feel like you showed the veterans that you were going to be tough competition?
A. Adam: Yeah, I think all the veterans were really stunned and surprised that we did as well as we did. No one would've really expected it. It doesn't matter if you did the show a million times. If you're a good competitor, you're going to be good. They try to psych you out but Leroy and I are pretty tough kids.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you and Leroy strike a deal with Wes to do what he said in order to stay in the game longer?
A. Adam: I don't really consider them manipuatling us or using us. Eventually, you're going to have to fight for your spot. If you beat them, then you beat them. What's the difference if we give them our vote? We could say no and then they'd be like, "Okay, we'll try to get rid of you now." We might as well jump on the bandwagon.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You know what happens when you break the rules on an MTV show so why did you punch Ty in the face, even after everyone tried to stop you?
A. Adam: I don't know. Obviously, on tv, they never really show how things went down. Cameras missed most of the fight and the argument. Ty was pretty much running his mouth and calling me a bitch. He was being really rude to me and I was like, "Don't talk like that. I don't appreciate that." He just continued to do it and I told him to shut up and pushed him. The cameras missed that. After I pushed him, Ty got back in my face, people got in the middle, I swung and missed him. Ty was pretty much... he's a bitch. He would never actually do anything. Once somebody holds him back, he pretends like he's gonna kick you. We went our separate ways for like, ten minutes and then I was back in the kitchen. I told him, "If you're gonna keep talking , you're gonna get hit." I was like blackout drunk. I don't remember much of it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Is there any part of you that feels like, if you act up, you'll be more memorable than if you just hung back and acted nice?
A. Adam: That's what pisses me off. People say, "You're trying to get tv time." I have never, ever done one thing thinking I needed to get camera time. That's how I am. I get into fights. If someone calls me a bitch, I'm going to hit them. I'll never let someone call me that and think it's okay. I don't care if I'm on tv. I don't care where I am. I don't like people to disrespect me. I never once have I done or said anything just for tv.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It's great that Leroy got to stay on the show, even though you unfortunately had to leave. What's the status of your relationship with him now?
A. Adam: After we filmed Rivals, the Vegas season aired. While that was airing, having to relive that, we both were doing interviews and he was talking a lot of crap about me. Even though it had been months before, people would ask us: "Who would win in a fight?" and he was saying a lot of stuff. We went through a period of time where we hated each other. Just recently, in the past few weeks, we decided that we're gonna put all the television b.s. behind us. It's tough having to relive all of your stuff on tv. It does bring up a lot of drama. That's why Nany and I don't talk anymore. She wants to still hold a grudge against me for what happened on the tv show because she lets what other people say about the show get under her skin so much. It's like, "That was months ago." I've apologized several times. She can't seem to put it behind her - I don't know why. Leroy and I said, "It's tv, it's ridiculous. It's stupid to hate each other." We do get along, we hang out, we have a good time. We have different points of view but that's what Real World is all about, putting different people together. We talk on the regular.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You have a clothing line, right? What else is going on for you?
A. Adam: It was funny how it started. I love t-shirts. I don't know if you noticed, from watching the show, but I always wear v-necks. I was like, "Someone neeeds to start a nice brand of t-shirts and sell them at a good price." That's what my goal was. We're pretty much starting off trying to brand the company and get the name and logo out there. Also, we're selling shirts that have sayings that I said on The Real World, like the first night Nany and I had hooked up, I said: "Are you gonna regret this in the morning?" or when my girlriend called me, I said: "Don't call me. I'll call you 'cause that would just be annoying." We have shirts that say funny things like that. I do club and bar appearances, traveling around the country. I love it. I get to meet all kinds of people and have a good time. I'm getting paid to party. Professional partier and I'm loving every minute of it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What has being on MTV done for you?
A. Adam: The best part has probably been, it might sound kind of corny, but making people happy from watching me on tv and meeting fans. I get a lot of hate on the internet from wherever but I've never met a single person who had a bad thing to say at an apperance. Especially guys. I get tons of guy groupies. Obviously, the girls... they all love me. I don't know if it's 'cause they see me in person and they think I'm a celebrity so they're nice to me. The love is overwhelming. The show was one of the most popular Real Worlds in like, ten years. It's sweet. I'll be driving down the street and people are like, "That's Adam from The Real Word!" I never thought I'd be recognized that much. It's cool to meet people or Tweet people and make their day.
