America's Best Dance Crew Season 6

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, only seven crews remain for Katy Perry week!

Phunk Phenomenon and I aM mE were the first two crews announced safe into next week.

Phunk Phenomenon had to create a roulette wheel on stage in their performance to “Waking Up In Vegas” by Katy Perry. D-Trix loves them more and more each week. However, Lil Mama thought their energy slowed down this week. JC Chasez said they played the part but wanted to see more defined levels.

I aM mE danced to Katy Perry’s “Peacock” and had to fan out on stage just like a peacock. Lil Mama said they came with a whole new style of dance. JC Chasez liked that they danced in couples. D-Trix thought they had a hard challenge, but said what they did with it was brilliant.

787 Crew was also announced safe, but ReQuest Dance Crew was the first crew revealed to be in the bottom two.

787 Crew had to create a rollercoaster on stage for their performance to Katy Perry’s “Hot ‘N Cold.” JC Chasez liked that they took a negative situation and turned it into a positive with their crew member in a wheel chair out their performing on stage with the rest of them. D-Trix said Puerto Rico just brought the heat and thought it was amazing. Lil Mama thought they had tremendous formations and thought they brought a lot of high energy to the room.

ICONic Boyz were announced safe along with Instant Noodles, which left Street Kingdom in the bottom two with ReQuest.

ICONic Boyz danced to “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry where they had to create a wall and break it down.  D-Trix didn’t like it. He said it takes a lot more than just being adorable. Lil Mama said their choreography is one of the cleanest on the show. JC Chasez disagreed with D-Trix completely. He thought they performed to the crowd and gave them want they wanted.

One member from Instant Noodles had to make a movement that explodes a chain reaction in the rest of the crew in their performance to “Firework” by Katy Perry. JC Chasez thought the ballet moment was funny, but said there were a lot of pauses in the steps. D-Trix said they did the challenge to their best potential. Lil Mama thought they utilized the stage well.

Street Kingdom and ReQuest Dance Crew had to battle it out and prove to the judges that they deserve to stay.

Street Kingdom was up first performing to “E.T.” by Katy Perry where their challenge was to create a spaceship. D-Trix said it was the best performance that he has ever seen in his life and that it inspired him. Lil Mama thought they boosted the energy in the room from a seven to a 10.

ReQuest, of course being the only all-girl crew, performed to Katy Perry’s “California Girls” and had to ride a wave on stage. JC Chasez said they were top night tonight fighting off the competition for the second week in a row. Lil Mama said they were holding it down for New Zealand.

Unfortunately for ReQuest, they didn’t hold it down hard enough because they were sent packing as their banner fell.
