Jet and Cord McCoy from The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business

by Gina Scarpa

This week on The Amazing Race, Jet found himself in trouble during a Road Block in Liechtenstein. He came up with the wrong amount of miles after biking across the (small) country and was forced to back and repeat the task. Jet and Cord tried to make up time but arrived at the Double U-Turn after the Globtetrotters, who sent them back to complete the other side of the Detour. They arrived last at the pit stop and were eliminated from the race. Today, we spoke to the fan favorites in an exclusive interview about their second time on The Amazing Race.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Well, I think I know the answer to this question but was there any hesitation of either of your parts when you were asked to come back and run The Amazing Race a second time?
A. Cord: It was kinda tricky because I got married two days before we took off on the race. I'm glad I have such a sweet wife.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You guys got off to a rough start on that first leg, with the nautical flag challenge. Were you worried you were going to be the first team sent home?
A. Jet: Yeah, it crossed my mind!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you realize how many teams were not only working together, but working together against the two of you?
A. Jet: I didn't realize it in Australia. I just assumed that everybody had gotten the right answer. There was only one, maybe two teams that got the right answer. It became much more obvious watching it back on tv. You can see what everybody's doing.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why do you think that the teams targeting you two above everyone else? Zev and Justin are a strong team. The Globetrotters are a strong team.
A. Cord: Well, that's a good question. I'm glad you guys brought that up. I don't know. We were never really intimidated by the other teams and maybe that in itself was a threat.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did it bother you that the Double U-Turn on last night's episode happened right at the end of the leg?
A. Jet: I don't think it really bothered us that much that it happened where it did in the leg. I think that what shocked us is that we were the only ones U-Turned.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You went back and ate the cheese after being U-Turned. Zev and Justin and Jen and Kisha had a hard time with it. How was it for you?
A. Cord: Definitely not the best tasting meal I've ever had. We were there for a good, long while.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made the two of you go back and complete the other side of the Detour as opposed to just going to the Pit Stop? You knew that you were last.
A. Cord: We always did whatever it was that was in front of us. We were U-Turned, we went back and did the other side of the Detour.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was there a tiny part of you that was hoping it would be another non-elimination leg?
A. Jet: I don't know about Cord but I pretty much knew that it was going to be an elimination leg.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What has the support from fans meant to you? You guys are really popular!
A. Jet: More than a million dollars!
A. Cord: Especially today, when you get up, and you look at Twitter or on Facebook and see how many people are just cheering you on.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you think that it makes sense for teams to be working together so much the way they are this season? Eventually, they have to leave each other behind.
A. Jet: It doesn't make sense to me. Cord made the point that there's only going to be one team that gets the check for a million dollars.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: So are you guys just going back to your everyday lives now?
A. Jet: Of course, back to the ranch!
