"Residual Haunts"

Fort Knox - Prospect, Maine

For those not geographically challenged, you've already noticed that this is not the Fort Knox of Kentucky, but it still is an American Fort.  It was built in 1844 when the United States and Britain were arguing over the boundaries of the Canadian and U.S. border.  The U.S. decided to make it very clear to the British that the lines have already been drawn and that they were on U.S. soil.  The fort has housed as many as 500 soldiers during the Civil and Spanish American wars but there is very little mention of deaths in the fort itself resulting from combat.  Fort Knox was bought by Maine in 1923 and turned into a historical museum.  The current caretakers have reported seeing multiple apparitions of soldiers in civil war time's attire.  People have been pushed and loud stomping and artillery noises have been reported.  Of course workers also report feeling "creepy" in various part of the Fort.  TAPS will be investigating the Fort in the middle of winter and there are few spots were snow did not find its way into the various halls, rooms, and corridors.  Seems like the team needs to have a talk with their agents.  There has to be some ghosts in Florida during the northern winter.

TAPS co-founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson started out the investigation in what's called the "Long Alley," which serves as a walkway around the structure of the Fort.  They caught an anomaly in the thermal camera and this was not long after they both believed they saw something standing down the way.   The K2 meter was registering activity and their Laser Grid had one of its' beams blocked out.  Adding to this was the sound of someone walking that both Grant and Jason heard and it sounded like it was right next to them.  The sound moved away and their paranormal experiences came to a halt. Next stop was the Officer's Quarters were workers have reported being touched.  As they were calling out for someone to contact them, their K2 meter was showing a strong reading and then it just went away.  Many times the K2 meter will stay consistent if its' ready electrical wiring in the area, but this reading went off the wall then went dead.

Amy Bruni and Britt Griffith headed to the "Case Mate" where the canons are spread out poking through the walls.  They thought they heard somebody walking towards them and called out to other team members to see if it was them but it was not.  They headed to the "Long Alley" and also reported something blocking out the Laser Grid and Amy thought she might have seen an apparition.

The team closed the investigation and headed back to the hotel to review the evidence.  One interesting item that was caught on their recorders was the sound of someone breathing as if they were dealing with the cold winter air.  Jason and Grant had both heard this exact sound and so their personal experience was verified.  Grant concluded the Fort was dealing with a residual haunting, a haunting that goes on whether people are present or not.

Ferrell House - Macclesfield, North Carolina

TAPS headed back to its' roots to investigate the home of a family who feels that long past members of their family have come back to visit them...and possibly haunt them.  Janet Ferrell has lived on land since 1991 and recently built a new house with her husband Randel in 2005.   She noticed some paranormal activity in the past but a recent uptick caused her concern and hoped TAPS could help her find out why.  Besides seeing a strange dark figure enter her house, her son has also reported seeing her father standing on his porch waving to him.  He was so surprised at how real the situation was that he waved back before again realizing his grandfather had long passed.  There was also an incident with the family dog which came running up the stairs and was acting as if something was on its' back which was coupled with audible noises of something strange around the dog.   Janet has also experienced having her hair pulled...let your mind wander on that one.

Jason and Grant brought their dog along to see if it had any similar issues in the house.  The dog experienced no problems and they thought that the family's dog may be getting creeped out by the loud creaking of the floor boards.  They headed to the bedroom where Janet had experienced her hair get pulled and it wasn't long before Jason noticed a spike in their K2 meter followed by Grant feeling like something had touched his hair.  A vent above the bed could be culprit.  The heater or A/C unit kicking on creates enough pressure to cause a feeling of being touched. The other members of the team did investigate various parts of the house and grounds but nothing paranormal got their attention.

The team did catch a couple of EVPs of a mans' voice.  Both sounded creepy but what was being said could not be figured out.  TAPS believed they were able to explain a lot of the items reported but certainly could not discount the apparitions the family has experienced
