Brenda Lowe from Survivor: Nicaragua

Last night, on Survivor: Nicaragua, the tides started to turn against Brenda and Sash who, up to this point, thought they were running the game. After Marty was sent home, Holly started putting the bug in everyone's ear that one of them had to go next and even NaOnka turned against them. Going into tribal council, Brenda hoped that Sash would give her the idol in order to save her but he held onto it for himself. Today, we caught up with Brenda in an exclusive interview to get her thought on the people she played the game with and her last tribal council with Jeff Probst.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you a fan of Survivor? Why did you want to try out?
A. Brenda: Totally! I went to an open call last year for Samoa but I didn't make it. I love the show and every time I thought about trying out, I would miss the casting. I tried out with my boyfriend at the time and yeah, I made it this time! I love the show, I love being outdoors, I love the challenges and to watch it is one thing but to be there and do it, it's like, "I could do this for free!"

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Your fellow players thought you were a very strong competitor. Do you think it helped that you were a fan of the show and knew the game going in?
A. Brenda: Oh yeah, definitely! I think it was more the excitement. I wasn't scared of it. I was like, "This is what I've been watching on my couch and this is my moment!" I knew how I felt watching it at home. I couldn't take it for granted. I wanted to live what I had been dreaming of. I get emotional talking about it. Other people might not have watched it and been so into the show but I was.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You teamed up with NaOnka all season. Watching the episodes back now, are you surprised at her behavior or any of the things she said?
A. Brenda: I knew she never liked Kelly B from the start. To NaOnka's defense, Kelly B doesn't have the best personality. I didn't know it was that bad! I didn't judge her for it because that was my alliance. It made sense for me to keep her. People thought of me as the "target". To have a crazy person like NaOnka who people will target was a system I really liked. It felt good.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was Chase smart to align with you? Were you going to be loyal to him through the rest of this game?
A. Brenda: Well, towards the end, no. Until final five, yes. I would've done whatever to take him out. No hard feelings but you have to take out the people that are your competition. I wanted to sit next to NaOnka and Purple Kelly. Chase had my trust to the final five. He's not your typical strategic player. He just went with his heart. He's such a good person and he hates the whole going back and forth and lying. He's innocent like that which sucks because you're on the wrong show. However, he's still in it and I'm not.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You said at tribal council last night that you didn't want to vote Marty out. Is that true or is that something you said to hopefully gain Marty's vote if you made it to the end?
A. Brenda: 100,000% true! I didn't want Marty out of the game. I wanted Jane gone. To keep Chase happy, we kept her. I was like, "To shut Jane up, we will vote off Marty". It's not what I wanted. I didn't like that Jane was getting more power over our alliance. It annoyed the hell out of me. Sometimes, you just have to go with the majority.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you upset that Sash didn't give you the idol at tribal?
A. Brenda: What people don't know is that there is a little scene where Sash went off for the zipline, I had a feeling that this was going to show what side of things he was on. I told NaOnka depending on what Sash does, it's either we can trust him or we can't. I told NaOnka that if he wanted to keep Marty, then we can't trust him. NaOnka was asking if I was going to take out Sash and that was going to be my big move. Of course, she told Sash that and he told me afterwards. He wouldn't give me the idol. Why would he do that? I just said I was going to vote him out!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you feel leaving Survivor? Is this something you would do again?
A. Brenda: Yes! Definitely, yes please, I would do it again! It was extremely bitter at the end because of the way that Jeff took it. I could not explain myself right then and there why I wasn't scrambling. It frustrates me that he was like, "You don't scramble, you're not the game." That's bull! The only people who are going to save me is my alliance. You cannot trust these people. They're taking away your main alliance which is me. I was saying, "I'm loyal to you guys!" I kept telling them that, " I'm loyal, I'm loyal, I'm loyal." If I scramble and talk to everyone they'd say, "That's loyalty?" It would've gone totally against what I was trying to accomplish. I was trying very hard to accomplish that. Besides being totally pissed at NaOnka, I still would've played the game with her.
