This episode of Hell's Kitchen starts off with vicious tempers and only seven chefs remaining. After Trev submitted Russell for the last elimination, Russell is steamed and is ready to take on everyone by himself. However, this will not help the blue team as Gordy presents the communication and timing challenge to the contestants. Chef Ramsay is not impressed with either team's ability to communicate effectively and is going to put them to the test.

Each team has thirty minutes to cook three entrees: a chicken dish, a salmon dish, and a lobster dish. The catch is that only one chef is allowed five minutes in the kitchen at a time. After the five minutes is up a new chef comes in and takes over. The chefs have fifteen seconds of communication between the shifts. The challenge starts with Russell and Sabrina prepping the pasta and protein.

After a quick five minutes, Trev and Julian come in and start pushing the dishes forward. As Vinny and Nona approach the kitchen for their turns, Julian has started the sauces while Trev forgets to mention to Vinny that he has not started on the live lobster.

Vinny begins to plate his dishes while Nona adds the perfect amount of seasonings to each dish. They are soon replaced by Gail and Russ who seem to not have an impact on pushing either dish toward completion. Next came Sabrina and Trev followed by Vinny and Julian. By the time Vinny comes in for his second turn the lobster still has not been started. Vinny decides to just cook the tail.

Something is better than nothing. Just as the red team looks to complete their dishes in time, Julian drops a pan splattering salmon all over the floor.

The chefs complete the challenge and are ready for Gordy's critiques. The first dish was ironically the salmon. Because there was no actual salmon for the red team, the blue team scores the first point. The next point goes to the red team for their well seasoned, yet soupy, pasta. A desperate plea for hope pays off as the final chicken dish point is handed to the blue team. This cuts one of the longest losing streaks in Hell's Kitchen history. I guess the blue team had to win again sometime.

Rejoicing in their overdue win, the blue team is treated to a cookware shopping spree and a fine dining experience with Chef Ramsay at the Melisse restaurant. The red team, not used to losing, is stuck doing truck and prep work for Hell's Kitchen. Upon the blue teams return Chef Scott calls for the red and blue team to gather around for an announcement from Chef Ramsay. The time has come for the chefs to create their own menu for Hell's Kitchen. This means that each team must come up with four appetizers, four entrees, and four deserts. Let's see if they can agree for once.

Later that night Vinny and Trev celebrate the victory with a couple bottles of wine while Russell heads to bed. Early the next morning the chefs are called down to the kitchen for prep. Needless to say Vinny and Trev seem a bit sluggish. Finally, Chef Ramsay opens Hell's Kitchen for the magnificent red vs. blue team menu night. At first everyone was seeing red as all the appetizers were off of the red team's menu. This is until owner of Melisse enters and orders the first item off of the blue team's menu.

After a slow start, both teams start to pick up the pace. As more and more blue team menu items get ordered the more stressed the guys seem to become. This came to a head when Vinny literally forgot to cook the lamb for none other than the Melisse owner. While Russell begins to pick up Vinny's slack, Gail on the red team has tried six times to cook lobster, failing every time. After an hour and a half into dinner service the red team's entrees are getting out to the customers thanks to Sabrina's masterful meat station abilities. In an attempt to redeem himself, Vinny moves to the fish station only to sink even deeper. While Vinny sinks, so does Gail as she presents Chef Ramsay with a raw lobster for the seventh time resulting in her being kicked out of the kitchen.

Both teams eventually finished what came to be an ugly dinner service. The dinner service was so ugly in fact that Ramsay declared no winner and asked both teams to come up the chef for elimination. At elimination all four girls voted for Trev. This was not enough however, as Vinny turns in his jacket and heads for the door. Then there were six.
