Survivor: Nicaragua

by Gina Scarpa

Last night, on Survivor: Nicaragua, it looked like Marty's days were even more numbered than they were before... if that's possible. His attack at tribal council on Jane left her even more motivated to gun for him and she's got Chase on her side, ready to back her up. Knowing that he's in trouble, Marty immediately tries to convince people to blindside Jane at the next tribal and isolate Chase and Holly.

The first challenge of the night is for reward - and a good one, at that! The tribe is split into two teams, men vs. women, and must complete an obstacle course in order to win a Survivor barbecue feast. Because there was an uneven number of players, Chase was randomly selected not to participate and had to choose a team to back. If his team won, he'd get the reward, too. He must not have chosen the men because of Dan but he performs fairly well, considering what he's been doing all season.

In fact, the men win, which is either a good or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. The men will not only have a great day together and eat up but they can plot and plan their next move. Chase, however, can team up with the women now because he has clearly separated himself from the men. Seems like alliances are about to change...

Feeling like he could be on the chopping block, Chase starts running around camp, making sure that everything is okay with Brenda and NaOnka. The problem is that the girls can't stand the paranoia and are now thinking of getting rid of him. If they're smart, they'll just keep their alliance intact. This game is all about numbers right now. You want everybody in your corner that you can have, annoying or not.

Going into the immunity challenge, Jane's philosophy is: Anybody but Marty. Lucky for her, she gets her wish. Players had to memorize a series of symbols then show those symbols on a cube in the correct order. It came down to Brenda and Marty but Brenda prevailed and relished in her victory.

Back at camp, Marty tried to spread the word that NaOnka was on the chopping block but Chase picks up on the fact that the men could very well be plotting to blindside Jane. Brenda and Sash are convinced that they're running this game and whatever decision they make on who to vote out will be the end result.

At tribal, NaOnka goes off on everybody around her, leaving Jeff speechless. It's clear she's a favorite to take to the end because nobody is going to vote for her (Dreamz, anybody?). Somewhere along the way, the plan got lost because NaOnka didn't play the idol and the votes came down to Marty and Jane with MARTY being blindsided. NO!!! Jeff says the game is about to get really interesting but I'm trying to figure out how that can be the case with the most vocal gameplayer walking out of the game.
