Emily Kutchins and Melissa Doney from Hell's Kitchen Season 8

On last night's Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsay sent not one, but two, women home from the red team. Emily did well in the prom challenge, wowing the committee with her potstickers, but failed to deliver during dinner service and was eliminated up against Melissa. Melissa lasted only a little bit longer, though, and was eliminated after failing to cook scallops properly. Today, the two women spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about their experiences on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you decide to try out for Hell's Kitchen?
A. Emily: I got an email from one of my distributors saying there was an open call in Chicago. I thought I'd entertain it and try out. When I got there I thought, "This is cool." I wanted to challenge myself. I was coming out of bad time financially in my career.
A. Melissa: For me, trying out was a chance for me to prove to myself and show everyone what I can do. It all started with my fiancé. He filled out an online application and asked me if I wanted him to hit Send.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why does the red team always have a tough time working together?
A. Emily: In our career path in hospitality, it's like nine guys for every one girl. You're used to having to be a little more aggressive to be paid attention to. We're all on the aggressive side and to put us all in one space, it's gonna be tough.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you form real friendships with people that you will talk to outside of the competition and stay in touch with?
A. Melissa: I would think so, definitely. For myself, we're such a small group of individuals to have actually experienced this. You can't describe it unless you go through it. You're with these people 24/7 for a period of six weeks and you don't have televisions, you don't have your cell phone, so bonds form very quickly. You learn so much about these people in such a small, miniscule amount of time. You're always going to have that bond.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What's the most stressful part about cooking in Hell's Kitchen?
A. Melissa: You're second guessing yourself and then there are people who have opinions and you're wondering if they're trying to be helpful or they're trying to sabotage you.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Is there anyone that you think should've been eliminated before you?
A. Emily: I think Sabrina or Boris should've gone home before me.
A. Melissa: I agree, especially when I was up for elimination. Boris was kicked out of the kitchen that night. He didn't bring it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Speaking of Sabrina, she has a lot to say when she's in front of the cameras. What is your take on her?
A. Emily: She's gonna learn the hard way that you can't treat your coworkers that way. We have a job to do and that's to get dinner out. She's gonna fall hard and I'm hoping it happens on national television so I can watch it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Is there anyone you're rooting for?
A. Melissa: It's a little early to tell. There are a lot of people that could make it to the end but it's still early.
