Survivor: Nicaragua

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on Survivor: Nicaragua, the tribe members of Espada have clearly elected one Jimmy (I'll give you one guess) as their leader while the other Jimmy pouts in the corner because no one is listening to him. No worries, Jimmy T. You're not the craziest person in the game. That title belongs to Holly, who has melted down for no apparent reason and begins acting erratically. If you were on Espada, you'd be a little freaked.

Over at La Flor, an alliance forms between Sash and NaOnka, based solely on the fact that they're both minorities and are now hoping to pull Brenda in for the same reason. That may be the worst reason for an alliance ever. Everyone's still gunning to get Kelly B. out, calling her a "charity case". Classy, La Flor, classy.

In tonight's immunity/reward challenge, teams had to race through mud and find a ball in a stack of hay. Once four balls were found, players would have to bounce the balls on wooden planks and get them into a barrel. The first team to do that will choose their prize - a tarp or fishing gear... and, of course, be safe from tribal. Espada chooses to use the Medallion of Power, which gives them one ball in the barrel to start off. La Flor sits NaOnka... who is a gym teacher and therefore, I assume, a physical player... wise move?

Things got very close but, in the end, the Medallion paid off and Espada won, taking the fishing gear and high morale back to their camp.

At La Flor, it looks like Brenda is in big trouble. Her flirty ways and competitive spirit have thrown a big ol' target on her back. However, never underestimate a player that read "Parvati's Guide To Competing On Survivor". Knowing that she's in trouble, she heads to Chase, turns on the charm, and tries to convince him to turn on his allies.

At tribal council, things get heated quickly between Chase and Shannon, when the latter realizes his alliance partner could be turning on him.  Shannon really loses it, refusing to censor himself and offending many people around him.  He's about two seconds away from talking himself out of this game... until NaOnka opens her mouth and attacks Fabio for no reason whatsoever.  Does anyone like each other on La Flor?

When the votes are read, it comes down to Shannon and Brenda and Shannon's big mouth is the only thing to blame for his torch being snuffed tonight.
