Top Chef: DC

First, a moment of silence for Tiffany. (Moment.) Clearly, I'm still dealing with her departure.

The four remaining chefs (Angelo, Ed, Kelly & Kevin) are in Singapore for the first-ever international Top Chef finale. The chefs get a taste tour of local street food, ending with a visit from Padma.

The cheftestants are none too happy, as they know this means it's time for their Quickfire Challenge, which is to create their own version of Singapore street food, using only a wok. Oh, and the winning chef will win an automatic seat in the finale, which never happens this late in the game.

Kevin's never used a wok and Padma can't believe it. All four dishes are well received, but Ed walks away with the coveted win - and the immunity to go with it. Angelo is hella annoyed.

The elimination challenge is to cater a dinner party, hosted by Dana Cowin, Food & Wine magazine's Editor-in-Chief. To complicate matters, the dinner must be executed ‘a la minute,' which means made to order. And now you know!

The chefs must work as a team, adding to Angelo's already visible annoyance. Ed isn't helping matters, with his nonstop digs. Apparently, Ed is looking to get inside Angelo's head and eff him up. Not so classy.

Tom visits the chefs while they're prepping and questions why they are only creating one dish apiece. His original brand of condescending sass convinces them to double their menu, also doubling each chef's workload.

After a little prawn fishing togetherness, it's time to fire the dinner. Ed admits to being a ‘douche bag' when it comes to Angelo, and we're off! Hey, at least he's self-aware.

Aside from a questionably clueless wait staff, each of the cheftestants' dishes seems to be a huge hit with the judges, including the difficult-to-please Cowin. The judges seem so pleased, in fact, that I'm beginning to wonder how the hell they are going to send someone home.

At Judges' Table, Tom tells the cheftestants that this meal was the best of the season. Angelo and Kelly get some mixed, but mostly positive love, while the judges fall over themselves congratulating Ed on his creations. Tom tells Ed that his banana fritters would be a huge street cart hit with East Village stoners. Laughs ensue. Kevin gets more kudos, landing him somewhere between Ed and Angelo/Kelly.

After a tough deliberation, Ed is crowned the challenge winner. Angelo is in tears and I'm getting uncomfortable. Kelly gets the news that she's headed home. She starts to cry, Angelo continues to cry and Kevin looks mostly relieved.

I've had a love-hate opinion of Kelly, but I'm sad to see her go. Padma calls the chefs back to Judges' Table and the episode ends. Nothing like a good cliffhanger, friends!
