It wasn't supposed to happen this way. On Thursday night's live eviction episode of Big Brother, Kathy sat safely on the couch, as Matt and Lane sat on the block. Little did anyone know that Matt had the Diamond Power of Veto, which gave him the ability to take himself off the block and name his replacement. He backdoored Kathy right out of the house, who barely had a chance to wrap her brain around what had just happened. We spoke to Kathy this weekend in an exclusive interview about the events that unfolded this week on Big Brother.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to do Big Brother?
A. Kathy: When I was taking care of my terminally ill grandmother, we would watch Big Brother together. I had just finished taking chemo and she told me that when I got better I should apply and go on Big Brother. When she passed away, I finally applied. Another reason that I applied was due to the fact that I am a cancer survivor, if I were to relapse, it would be very expensive and I wanted the money to help out my family.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You struggled in the physical competitions. Was that part of your strategy or not?
A. Kathy: Yes, it was. Except the caramel one, I was sick then.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you officially aligned with anybody in the house?
A. Kathy: No, I wasn't.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When Matt first said he had the Diamond Power of Veto during the elimination ceremony, what was the first thing that went through your head?
A. Kathy: I'm fixing to be sitting on the block!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you truly not have any hard feelings towards Matt?
A. Kathy: I truly do not have any hard feelings towards Matt.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How do you feel about being in the jury house alone with Rachel for the next week?
A. Kathy: Hahah If anybody were going to the jury house to be alone with Rachel, it would probably need to be me because I can calm her down a lot. It will be a long week but I can handle it. I can handle anything.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the best part of Big Brother?
A. Kathy: The best part of Big Brother was the experience in itself and realizing that you shouldn't take things for granted. My family, friends, my job are the most important things too me. Being away from it really makes you appreciate life even more.
