Tonight, on MasterChef, the 14 finalists head to a fully stocked kitchen to find a mystery box filled with ingredients for their first challenge of the evening. Inside the box is a pork chop, parsley, cabbage, ciabatta bread, a granny smith apple, lemon, tomato, koniak, cinnamon, and chocolate. In 45 minutes, they'll have to use as many or as few ingredients as they want to create an amazing dish.

In this challenge, presentation is everything because only the three best looking dishes will be tasted by the judges. They select Sheena, Jake, and Whitney and choose Whitney's southern fried pork chop with coleslaw as the best one. The most amazing part is that the young chef never cooked pork in her life!

Whitney receives a big advantage for the next challenge, as she'll get to choose the main ingredient that everyone will have to work with. In this Invention Challenge, the theme is Chinese (which Whitney also doesn't know anything about) and her three choices are mushrooms, oranges, and duck. She chooses oranges... why, I don't know... and now everyone has one hour to prepare a dish.

Sheena notices that everyone is preparing the same dish basically - stir fry with some Mandarin oranges on top. She's not the only one who picks up on it. As the judges watch, they feel that no one looks very confident in what they're doing. They better find their confidence because there's an elimination coming!

After everyone presents their dishes, Gordon says that there's one who took theirs to an extraordinary level and that person was Mike. The bottom three were Faruq, Sheena, and Avis. Faruq's chicken was raw, Sheena's dish was called a "salad gone bad", and Avis's dish was not authentic whatsoever. Avis is eliminated but Gordon stops the remaining two and tells them he's not done yet. Sheena is sent home as well. Both contestants are given encouraging words from Graham and Gordon and head out of the kitchen. You didn't expect Joe to be warm and fuzzy, did you?
