Big Brother Season 12: Week 4 Elimination and Week 5 HOH Recap

Hayden and Kristen finally know what it feels like to be Brendon and Rachel in the Big Brother house. The latter were put up against one another in the first week but a POV win saved them. Hayden and Kristen weren't so lucky. After Britney won the POV this week, and decided not to use it, one of the members of this second showmance is walking out the door.

Following the POV ceremony, Brendon and Rachel approach Hayden to reassure him that he's safe. Britney runs to Enzo to tell him that Rachel brought up the idea of putting Lane on the block. Now, the Brigade is gunning for her - as if they weren't already!

While Brendon and Rachel cuddle outside, Ragan, Matt, and Britney sneak up into the HOH room to dress up in her clothes and imitate her. It looks bad for them when the couple returns to the room. Totally busted, right? Nope. Rachel finds it hilarious and doesn't even realize that two seconds earlier, they were mocking her.

Hayden tells Kristen that she can campaign against him which sets off a red flag. He seems to feel so sure he's staying that she realizes that he must be in some sort of alliance. Kristen goes to Ragan and Britney with the idea that Hayden is aligned with Lane and Enzo. Her tactic is to convince them that they won't want to go up against all these alpha males without an ally in the house. You gotta give it to her. She's observant and has some good tactics here.

In an interview with Hayden's family, his mother admits that she doesn't believe that Kristen is genuinely into him and doesn't trust her at all. She thinks that hooking up with Kristen has ruined his game. Seems like Hayden's mama is on the right track. Kristen actually has a boyfriend back home who had no idea she was betraying him until he saw it on tv. Talk about embarrassing for him. My opinion of Kristen has just been lowered dramatically.

Rachel heads upstairs to the HOH room to reveal to Julie that Matt is her next target. She still doesn't forgive him for what he did to her the first time that she was HOH. Down in the living room, Hayden and Kristen make their cases to stay in the house. Hayden says that he has class and won't throw Kristen under the bus, then asks people to vote for whoever they think will further their game. Kristen says that some people are cowards but that she's played the game to the best of her ability.

Enzo, Matt, Lane, Ragan, Brendon, and Britney vote to evict Kristen while Kathy votes to evict Hayden. Is Kathy just not in the loop? Is the Shambo of the season? Survivor fans?

Outside of the house, Kristen tells Julie that there were probably people who wanted to vote to keep her but they wouldn't have been in the majority.  In her goodbye messages, Rachel once again talks about someone coming between "her and her man", Ragan tells her that she was evicted because Rachel is so insecure, Kathy breaks down crying, and Hayden admits that he's part of an alliance and says he would've chosen her over the Brigade any day.  Not sure I believe that but it doesn't matter anyway.

Amazingly, America has chosen Ragan as the new saboteur but we're going to have to wait to find out about that until another day.

It's time to crown a new HOH but this competition is one that requires endurance.  The houseguests spin on a giant can of paint and it seems they can do this for hours.  The first person to fall off will be the one and only "have not" for the week.  Cannons of paint spray at them as they go round and round.  You're going to have to wait until Sunday (or take a sneak peek at spoiler sites) to find out who wins this one...

Find out who the next HOH is on Big Brother, Sunday night at 8/7c on CBS.
