This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is both refreshing and annoying, all at once. I suppose sitting here on the couch, watching a show that was taped months ago, it is easier to see some of the obviousness that is blind to the four remaining cast members on the show.

 

First of all, Danielle is like a breath of fresh air in this episode. She goes in to get her breasts fixed after some botched augmentations in the past. The doctors admit that it will be a difficult job, but she goes for it. The surgery goes well, and she gets a ride home with Sue, who seems to be one of her only real friends. Or maybe, her only friend? Her girls help take care of her, and she comes off as a nurturing, good mother with good daughters. She never mentions the Manzo’s which is a glorious thing in itself. I really do hope this is a fresh start for her…but somehow I just can’t see it yet. Danielle has disappointed me in the past.

 

Caroline has all kinds of family stuff going on, which in a way is okay because there isn’t much else interesting going on with the show, at least during this episode.  But really, like I have said before, I didn’t sign up for Real Children of Real Housewives of New Jersey.  I mean, if I cared, I would just be hanging out with my 20 and 16 year old niece and nephew all of the time…been there, done that and not really interested in going back to that age. The reason we watch this show is to see how the “other half” live, not see the same teen issues that I can watch on Jersey Shore, but with less entertainment.

 

Nonetheless, Lauren is getting ready to graduate cosmetology school in the city but Albie has some bad news for his mom when he lets her know that he is not being invited back to his second year of law school. If what Albie says is what I think he said, he had a GPA of 1.93 and needs a GPA of 2.0 to go on. Now admittedly, it’s unfortunate that Albie has a learning disability, but if that GPA above is what I heard, ummmm…..maybe get a tutor? No one SHOULD pass with that low of a GPA. Sorry, just my opinion. He should be used to this by now, and know that he has to work twice as hard as the other students. Law school is difficult, and it is common to weed people out as they go.  No one is entitled to anything; you have to work for it. That’s life. Caroline gives Albie similar advice that he is going to have to get up and fight. So does Albert.

 

Teresa hires Elvira for a housewarming party. (Does Elvira look familiar? Worlds collide again.  She was on Bethenny Getting Married last week as a party hostess, is now on RHONJ. She also caused quite a stir today on Twitter, allegedly saying she was the newest Housewife which Andy Cohen put the kibosh on in his Twitter feed.) Elvira has an abrasive personality which turns Teresa off, but she is known for her party planning skills.  

 

Jacqueline and Chris are debating on letting Ashley move back in. Eventually, she does move back.

 

At Teresa’s party, she is getting ready when Jacqueline calls and says that Kim G has called and they should invite her. Teresa doesn’t want to, since Kim G is friends with Danielle, but complied. Kim D and Kim G show up (of course! Anything for more camera time, for these harpies!!). They show up drunk and cannot stop talking about Danielle.

 

Teresa tries to give a speech and pulls up Jacqueline and Caroline to thank them, when Kim D barges on to the stage to talk to Teresa like a drunk lush with no idea what was going on. Then she moves on to Ashley to talk all about Danielle, when Caroline asks them to stop (after saying that the conversation always turns to Danielle and that she is like parsley, everywhere), Kim G pulls Caroline aside  and says Jacqueline is obsessed with Danielle. Jacqueline somehow overhears and gets super upset and says she is angry with Danielle not obsessed with her. (My vote: they are ALL obsessed). Kim D and Kim G slither off to cause more trouble gossiping somewhere else.

 

On a side note: Tonight’s Watch What Happens Live featured Danielle who looks happy and healthy, she debuted her new song but also alluded to potentially being in a lesbian relationship?
