American Idol Season 9

by Gina Scarpa

On tonight's live results episode of American Idol, things kick off with a medley of Sinatra standards featuring all the lip syncing skills you could ever dream of. I never understand why, in a singing competition, the group always pretends to sing on elimination night. If anyone figures out why Idol does this, I'll buy you an ice cream.

Tonight's Ford commercial features Lee and Crystal awkwardly flirting with each other but Lee really has his eye on the Fiesta behind her so she ends up with Casey. Weird.

Time for some results. Lee, one of the two frontrunners of this competition, is safe. Well, no kidding, after that performance of "That's Life" last night!

Lady Gaga is on hand to perform her latest hit, "Alejandro". I will admit that Gaga has catchy songs and is always interesting to watch but did anyone else think she could've put on a little more clothing and not had so many men writhing around on the ground? It's a family show, lady. Cover up.

Harry Connick Jr. does a very funny video where he pretends to be horribly mean to the final five contestants but we all know he's a huge sweetheart. So much in fact, that he invited them all to perform with him tonight.

More results. The remaining four contestants are split into two groups: Crystal and Casey on one side of the stage and Big Mike and Aaron on the other. Seacrest pulls the douchey move of asking Lee which group he thought was safe. Of course, Lee won't make a choice so Ryan just lets Crystal and Casey know that they'll be moving on. Wow, Casey dodged a bullet, didn't he? Must be the poofy hair. He looks like a My Little Pony tonight.

So Big Mike and Aaron are this week's bottom two. The person leaving Idol is... Aaron Kelly. I'll miss his cute little face. I just wanna hug him.

Be sure to tune in when the Top 4 take the stage on American Idol, Tuesday at 8/7c on Fox.
