Tonight's elimination episode of American Idol kicks off with a performance from season 2 winner Ruben Studdard. He's touring with Clay Aiken from July to September this year and I have to say, I never imagined that they'd team up after their season together but it's actually not a bad idea!

 

Cue the cheesy Ford commercial, set to "Kung Fu Fighting".

 

Time for some results. Lee is safe, as are Casey and Aaron. Siobhan and Katie stand together, waiting to find out which of them is in the botom three. The judges are pretty sick of Siobhan's screaming (that makes five of us) and had pretty mixed reviews over Katie's performance last night. After the vote, it's Katie who is in the bottom three while Siobhan will live to wail another week for us.

 

BIEBER FEVER! Justin is in the audience! Calm down, girlies. Usher, this week's mentor, performs his latest song, complete with fire, booty-shaking dancers, and Will.I.Am.

 

Ryan doesn't waste any time in the second half of the results. Didi is in the bottom three, but Michael and Crystal are safe. Andrew and Tim stand together (something they're starting to get used to). I usually think Tim is such a doof but he earned some points tonight, when he said that he's always smiling because he doesn't want to spend a second in this competition being depressed or stressed out his performances. Touche, judges. Andrew won everybody over last night and is safe. Tim, Didi, and Katie are in the bottom three.

 

I know you probably won't believe me, because my fellow writer Lindsay Strouse covered the performance episode last night so I didn't get to make my predicitions but I swear that this is who I figured would be in the bottom. I called that Didi would go home beacuse Tim manages to get by week after week, since someone always sucks a little bit more than him. That's right, Paige. I'm talking to you.

 

Diddy is back and the new song he performs, "Hello, Good Morning", is probably worth downloading on ITunes but the performance was a little 90s rap video, if you ask me. He has also apparently changed his name to Diddy Dirty Money. All together now: Why?

 

Katie has been sent back to safety and it's time for the final result. The person with the lowest number of votes is Didi. Did I call it or what? She performs "Rihannon" for the save but is eliminated... you know you're not surprised.
