The Biggest Loser 9

Last night, on The Biggest Loser, Daris faced the reality of continuing this weight loss journey alone without his mother. When the black team returned from elimination, they walked in one by one but there was no Cheryl. Some contestants have had a tough time in the past when they lose their partner, but I have faith that Daris is going to push through and keep fighting.

Alison meets up with everyone for a pop challenge, and in order to win, players will have to correctly answer food trivia questions.  They're playing for a night at the Four Seasons Spa. That should motivate anyone! Who couldn't use a good facial or, even better, a backrub? I know I would if I had Jillian and Bob screaming and torturing me day in and day out. The losers will have to clean the kitchen... which always seems to look spotless whenever we see it so... that's... not... really... a punishment. Mike steps up for the blue team and shows off his food knowledge. They are headed to the spa, while the black team gets nothing but some Fantastik and paper towels to entertain them.

The episode's "get to the heart of the matter moment" came from Jillian and the pink ladies. Ashley is struggling, not only because she has a lot of weight to still lose, but because she's very attached to her mother. The three talked things out and Sherry told Ashley that she can do this alone if the time comes for that.

Mike was taken out of the gym after finding out that his grandmother has become very sick. His team had to compete in the next challenge without him, which took place in the kitchen with special guest chef Curtis Stone. Both teams would have 30 minutes to create an appetizer, entrée, and dessert using only 12 ingredients. The winning teams walks away with a five pound advantage, which is always worth playing for. The black team makes up for losing the pop challenge earlier and wins the advantage.

The blue team losing the challenge means Bob got to kick their butts extra hard during the last chance workout. I think I'd last about 5 minutes on a treadmill with him.

Mike returned in time for the weigh in and here's how things went:

Black Team:
Drea: -5
Sam: -8
Ashley: -7
Sherry: -3
Stephanie: -2
Black Team Total: -30 (-2.50%, which includes the five pound advantage)

Blue Team:
Lance: -8
Daris: -10
Koli: -9
O'Neal: -9
Sunshine: -9
Mike: -11
Blue Team Total: -56 (-3.11%)

Some pretty impressive moments for the blue team. Mike managed to lose 11 pounds at home, which looks good for him when the time comes for him to leave the ranch. Koli is finally under 300 pounds and I couldn't be happier for him! The black team sends Sherry home, continuing the battle of old vs. young... with old losing. However, she showed them! At home, she's under 140 pounds and looking amazing. Take that!
