The Real Housewives of New York City Season 3

by Chandra Clewley

The Real Housewives of New York started off tonight with Simon and Alex meeting Ramona and Mario for dinner. Mario and Simon are almost dressed the same, which makes everyone laugh and they seem to get along very well. Simon mentions to Ramona that she looks like Cameron Diaz with her new hairstyle. They are having such a good time that Ramona invites them to her little Labor Day party. They talk about how LuAnn won’t be coming now that Mario angered her. But he brings up the point that LuAnn has also said rude things about Ramona, i.e. “crazy eyes”. At the table, Mario calls LuAnn from Ramona’s phone and leaves a message asking her to come to the party so they can hash it out.

Jill is staying with LuAnn in her Hampton’s home during the Labor Day weekend. Jill thinks the house is so warm now that the Count is out of the picture. LuAnn doesn’t want to go to Ramona’s party without LuAnn, especially because she is a guest and she calls Ramona from the breakfast table to tell Ramona. When Ramona get’s on the phone, Jill says that she feels like she is between a rock and a hard place between Mario and LuAnn. At that point, Ramona goes on a tangent about LuAnn. (Here are some of our answers to the vague conversation that Bethenny had with LuAnn last week!) Ramona starts yelling about how LuAnn has never been faithful, “she’s been a slut the whole time she’s been married, maybe that’s why her husband divorced her!” Jill is adamant this is beside the point and Mario just needs to apologize to LuAnn and that’s all. “She’s never been alone and single, okay?” Ramona finishes.

Jill did not expect this; she says she would have never put her on speaker phone. She also believes that people that are obsessed with other people’s marriages must have problems in her own home for her to say these things about LuAnn. At that point, LuAnn tells Jill about meeting Bethenny for drinks, and says that Bethenny got shaky when she asked her to stop being so snarky….(I don’t think that is why Bethenny got shaky?)

Meanwhile, Bethenny and Jason have dinner and he asks her to live together. Ramona is planning the party and sets the table for Jill and LuAnn just in case they show. Over at LuAnn’s house, she is barbequing and has invited Kelly over to have food with them. Kelly comes over and pulls Jill and LuAnn aside to tell them something. At that point, Kelly lets them know that she is posing for Playboy Magazine. LuAnn says that she would pose if they asked her. Jill says she wouldn’t do it, but she doesn’t want to be judgmental. Turns out, LuAnn was on the cover of Playgirl Magazine. Later, Jill tells Bobby about Kelly’s Playboy gig and Kelly freaks out that other people’s husbands and people she knows will see it. Jill also tells Kelly about not going to Ramona’s party, and how upset Alex and Simon were that she wasn’t coming. Kelly wasn’t invited.

Bethenny and Jason come to Ramona’s, and Bethenny hasn’t spoken to Alex since she decided on a logo for her line. Bethenny ended up going in a different direction and feels awkward but she talks to her right away about it. Alex is caught off guard that Bethenny would cop to it so quickly. Alex appreciated it. Bethenny asks what she has missed since she has been on a book tour and fallen in love, and they talk a little about the “countless” comment of Mario’s. While they are all sitting for dinner another guest, Jennifer talks about how Jill feels towards Bethenny. Bethenny is annoyed and doesn’t understand why other people know about her relationship with Jill.

Finally, Alex and Simon tell Ramona that they are going to leave and stop by LuAnn’s. Ramona grows visibly upset and Mario says that they need to pick sides. Ramona is angry because LuAnn and Jill cancelled and now she thinks they are messing with her party. Alex says she feels caught in the middle, but then calls Jill and tells her they can’t make it.  She says there is no way they can go without declaring war because it is such a small party. Jill says that Alex is under the “Ramona-spell” but later says she is giving up on the one way friendships. And so the alliances begin…
