Fort Ticonderoga - Ticonderoga, New York
Fresh off their 100th show and a saucy photo shoot, the Ghost Hunters headed to Fort Ticonderoga. The
fort was built by the French to be used in the French Indian War and was later used by the Americans in
the Revolutionary War. Thousands died in battle on the grounds of the fort and it seems some of these
soldiers have refused to cross to the other side. The fort is now a museum and multiple reports of
apparitions dressed in 18th century attire have been seen by the caretakers and visitors. One of the more
interesting items being reported, besides ghostly figures, is a ball of light that seems to float around
various areas in the main building. Will the team finally find a real “Orb?” The last major items
reported on the grounds are sounds that seem to be that of horses breathing heavily and stomping their
feet and sounds of drums and bagpipes.
With TAPS co-founder Grant Wilson attending to family issues, Steve Gonsalves teamed up with co-founder
Jason Hawes to begin the investigation. It wasn’t long before they began hearing footsteps coming from
the upstairs. Of course, when they made their way to the next floor, nobody was around. In fact, the
entire building was empty. Their next spot to investigate was the top floor of one of the barracks where
a soldier is said to be see in the window. As they were trying to make contact both saw the room next to
them light up. This was also seen Dave Tango and Kris Williams who were in another building.
Amy Bruni and team extra, Brit Griffith, got the task of investigating the grounds in the area where
multiple soldiers where said to be buried. There is only one tombstone which represents what is assumed
to be hundreds buried in a shallow grave. As they began asking questions, the believed they heard some
faint conversations followed by some footsteps. The thermal imager they were using showed no signs of a
person or animal in the area.
Dave Tango and Kris Williams tried to debunk the footsteps coming from the upstairs and they may have been
able to link it to a wooden ramp right outside the building which seems to echo the noise, making it seem
like it’s coming from the upstairs….or maybe it’s just a coincidence.
Steve and Dave headed to the Cannon Room where a mist has been reportedly seen and a faint smell of gun
powder has been reported. As Steve was talking and trying to make a statement about what the smell could
be, he believed he heard someone say “No.” Seemed like they were just creeping each other out until they
played back their recorder and could verify that someone indeed was trying to communicate with them.
Amy and Kris headed down to what’s called the “French Ovens” which is a maze of caves beneath the fort.
The scent of burning bread had been reported and a caretaker has said to have been pushed. Nothing to
report here unless their audio equipment picked something up. Both Amy and Kris tried to provoke the
spirits and sometimes that does lead to good EVP.
There were a few EVPs that the team presented as evidence but nothing that really compared to other shows.
One item that was interesting was that of, what seemed to me, as a beating drum, which correlates with
what has been reported. The personal experiences mentioned earlier were again brought up to the museum
director. TAPS did believe that there was paranormal activity at Fort Ticonderoga and did mention they
would like to come back for a follow-up investigation.
