Miggy Cancel from The Biggest Loser 9

Last week, on The Biggest Loser, the players were invited to compete in a temptation challenge where the winner would be able to divide everyone up into blue and black teams. Only Mike and Andrew competed, and Mike was the winner. He stacked his blue team with Daris, Koli, Lance, and Miggy but they surprisingly lost the weigh in. Lance and Miggy were up for elimination the team decided to send Miggy home. Today, she spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about her experiences on The Biggest Loser and what she took away from it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Whose idea was it to try out for The Biggest Loser?
A. Miggy: It was my idea. I have said before, at a family reunion, I noticed how my family had all these medical problems. I said, "How am I going to do this?" I've tried diets before and it didn't work out for me. I used to watch The Biggest Loser all the time and I thought maybe I could do that. I was the one to call my daughter and told her to fill out the application.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Early on, your method of dealing with things was questioned by Jillian and you and your daughter felt defensive. How did you repair your relationship with Jillian and move forward?
A. Miggy: With Jillian, I see it this way. That's the way that she operates. She tries to go deep down and it's great but for us, we're really defensive and protective of certain things, as it showed. There's no hard feelings. We still get along. She's an awesome trainer. I've learned a lot and everything has moved on fine. On the show, you saw how we reacted to things because we didn't want certain areas touched. Now that we're learning and growing from the experience, and knowing it's okay to go to that part of your life, we understand what she was doing and we're fine. Our relationship with Jillian is great.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was it difficult for you when Migdalia went home?
A. Miggy: It was horrible. It was really hard for me and still to this point, when I talk about it, I get a little emotional. I wanted to stay with her the whole time. I'm to the extreme. I'm either a yes or no. For me, it was really hard. I didn't want to do this without and I was really angry. I didn't want her to be taken away from me when we supported each other.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: On last week's episode, there was a temptation challenge and the winner would get to divide the players into blue and black teams. Why didn't you compete?
A. Miggy: I said to myself time and time again, "I do not want anybody else deciding for me but at the same time, who am I to decide for other people?" I did not want to be in the position that Mike was when he made the decisions that he did.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Were you happy on the blue team?
A. Miggy: Uh... you know, I would have not made those choices that way. It could have been similar but not exactly. That's all I'm gonna say.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why do you think your team lost the weigh in, when it seemed like the odds were in your favor?
A. Miggy: The thing about this is percentage of weight loss. The other team was a lighter team so they had less weight to lose. Our team was a heavy team. We look strong but at the same time, we're a heavy team. It's not about size. That's where my decisions on the selections would've been different. I would've evened it out a bit.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How is your life different now, as opposed to before The Biggest Loser?
A. Miggy: I'm living a healthier lifestyle. I'm more focused and I'm learning to keep going with what I have learned and help others. When they come up to me, I say, "I tried for many years, this is how I'm doing it, this is how I keep on doing it." I make sure that my calorie intake and calorie burn gives me a balance. You have to burn more calories than you eat to be able to lose weight.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What are you doing to prepare for the live finale?
A. Miggy: I have a trainer in New Jersey. He has me working out, doing meditation, doing yoga. He schedules out my whole week and everything that I'm going to do and make sure I am ready for finale night.
