Cirie Fields from Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains

Last night, on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, word got out that there was a hidden immunity idol at each of the camps. Over at the heroes camp, Tom found it but not before Amanda could see him. Having the idol put a target on his back and when his tribe lost the immunity challenge, it looked like he or his alliance member Colby could be headed home. Tom and Colby teamed up with JT though, and blindsided Cirie instead at tribal council, who is known to be a master strategist and social player in the game. Today, Cirie spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about her experiences playing Survivor for a third time.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What did you think when you were asked to play Survivor for a third time?
A. Cirie: OMG! I really didn't believe it. I was in shock when I got the call from the casting director. I was completely and totally in shock. I had no idea that 1) I would have another opportunity to play and 2) that it would be so soon.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was your reaction to being not only an all star, but a hero?
A. Cirie: Wow, I was completely flattered and confused. I was flattered by the title but confused as to why I got it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When the tribes talked about getting rid of Amanda and Parvati, there was a lot mentioned about the Micronesia alliance. Did you have a plan to team up with Amanda, James, and Parvati at the merge?
A. Cirie: No plan whatsoever. If that was the situation and that was the best choice at the time, then yes, but no I had no plan for that. That would be presumptuous. That would be presuming that I would make it to the merge and so would Amanda and James, and Parvati would be there when I got there. Anything is possible in the game of Survivor so you can't plan for things. That hurt me because the first thing I heard was that I'm part of the Micronesia alliace. I wasn't part of the Micronesia alliance in Micronesia

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you decide to team up with Candace?
A. Cirie: She had no one and I had no one. We were in the same boat. You can't play the same without an ally. I thought she was really smart and two brains were better than one. With the team split the way it was... with Tom, Colby, and Stephanie, and then James, JT and Amanda... I thought Candace and I could be useful.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was tribal council a blindside or did you know that you might be going home?
A. Cirie: I knew that Tom was working on JT. I knew JT told Tom to play his idol so that we could not only get rid of the idol, but potentially get rid of Colby. I wasn't 100% sold on JT. I would I say that I was 75% hopeful.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Your reasons for getting rid of Tom were that he was charismatic, athletic, and already a winner. Couldn't you say the same about JT?
A. Cirie: I could've said it about JT and I probably would've. That's why it was good for him to get rid of me. The only way I wouldn't have tried to get rid of JT is if I felt I could've trusted him That's what I think people are missing about me. If I trust you, I will ride that all the way to the end. I did that with Aras (Survivor: Panama) and I did that with Parvati (Survivor: Micronesia).

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How do you feel about the villains tribe? They get a lot of screen time because they have a lot of drama over there. Are you glad that you're not part of it?
A. Cirie: No, because at least they're drama is exposed it's out in the open. We were around a bunch of passive-aggressive people. They were so concerned with not tarnishing that hero persona. We're acting like one big happy family but, beneath the surface, if you were there, you could smell the stench of resentment.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was it tough for these heroes to try to play the game, considering you really do have to lie and manipulate most times to get ahead?
A. Cirie: I think that came into play for a lot of people. You get the word hero, you may have won, you may have made it far... now you're here and everyone is on the same level, so to speak. Now what are you gonna do? Now, you have to find other avenues to make yourself be noticed or not noticed for those matters.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Do you feel it's to your advantage of disadvantage that people have seen you play the game twice and that you've seen the way the other players operate?
A. Cirie: I think it's to my advantage to know my opponent. It's to everyone's advantage, or to have some idea. I think it's a disadvantage for me for people who team up from prior seasons and have already determined who I am. I watch the show too and I formulate opinions about other players. I always want to get to know them myself, though. What I see on tv is what they compile from lots of lots of hours. I like to spend time with you and form my own opinion. Maybe I'll agree with what I saw on tv and maybe I won‘t. That was my detriment. People weren't really open to finding out who I really was.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Are you happy that you went out to play Survivor for a third time?
A. Cirie: Definitely happy that I went again! I'd be kicking myself if I'm watching it now and I didn't have the opportunity. Survivor has always been a great experience for me. I have no regrets with my experience. I'm just thankful that I was allowed to experience it three times. Who knows? Maybe it'll be four, five, or six times!
