America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, it’s time for the East coast to show everyone what they’re made of!

Up first is Legendary Seven from Massachusetts. A few of the crew members were actually on another season dancing for Status Quo. Omarion said they had explosiveness and lots of energy. Lil’ Mama thought the transitions were smooth but they need more difficult choreography. JC Chasez simply said that it was nice to see their enthusiasm.

Draztik, from Rhode Island, were next to hopefully make dreams come true. Lil’ Mama loved the way they worked together. JC Chasez had nothing bad to say about the performance but also said there was nothing really memorable. Omarion said they need to utilize the stage better.

Looks like this season is international because there is a crew from Canada! The Blueprint Cru wants to prove that there is talent all over the world. JC Chasez said they included what Draztik was missing. Omarion thought the energy between girls and guys need to be more balanced. Lil’ Mama said they have dimension.

The fourth crew, Static Noyze, is from Massachusetts. Lil’ Mama said they are one of the most well-rounded crews that she’s seen. Omarion didn’t see any emotion in the performance. JC Chasez completely disagreed with Omarion and said they have intellectuality about them.

Last up from North Carolina was Saltare, which means “jump” in Latin. This group is made up of the sickest jump ropests ever! Omarion really respects what they do. JC Chasez thought they handled a full-time prop flawlessly. Lil’ Mama summed it up by saying they are really impressive.

The judges had to choose the top two crews they want to move on to finals so it looks like Saltare and Blueprint Cru lucked out!

The remaining three crews had to face off in sudden death where they battled it out for the remaining third spot in The Nationals on Feb. 18.

The judges chose Static Noyze for the last spot to represent for the East coast in the finals! I’m actually kind of surprised to be honest but hey, congratulations to Static Noyze, Saltare and Blueprint Cru!

Watch five more crews next week represent for the West coast on an all new episode of America’s Best Dance Crew Thursday nights at 10/9c on MTV.
