Kell On Earth

If there's one thing you should know about Kelly Cutrone, it's that she's a cutthroat fashion PR guru. As we find out on tonight's premiere of Kell On Earth, though, she's a lot more than that. Kelly formed People's Revolution, her wildly successful company all while raising a daughter by herself. Her life is her daughter and her career and she works her butt off to make sure she's the best at both jobs.

First we meet Kelly's two right hand women, Robyn and Stefanie. Robyn is Kelly's business partner and is nicknamed Snow White with Razorblades, which pretty much speaks for itself. She can come across and sweet and kind but has no problem rearing her ugly head Cutrone style to get the job done. Wanna know how dedicated she is? She lives in the back of one of the showrooms! Formerly Kelly's assistant, Stefanie was recently promoted to Junior Executive and finds that she may be in a little over her head.

Kelly's new assistant is Andrew. Hmm, how to describe Andrew... well, he's a bit goth but somehow, it doesn't come out looking scary at all. Kelly has taken a liking to him, mostly because he's not a dumb, bubbly blonde chick who thinks she knows everything about fashion. In fact, Kelly likes him so much that she spends time during the episode trying to find Andrew a boyfriend. Too bad the guy he had his eye on already has someone in his life. Always the way, isn't it?

It's Fashion Week and that means that People's Revolution has not one, not two, but TEN fashion shows to take care of. One of the designers that she'll be working with, David Dolphin, stops in at People's Revolution to make sure everything is running smoothly. The day of his show, Kelly boots a photographer out for shooting underage models while they changed. Creeper! After the runway show, Kelly sets up interviews for David and makes sure that he gets the exposure that he needs. She says he's huge in Europe but, considering no one I know has heard of him, he still need a little PR help here in the states.

While David's show went off without a hitch, the same cannot be said for some of the other shows. There's a huge problem with seating - first of all, the designers wants too many people in the front row and there just aren't enough seats. Kelly breaks down the importance of seating at a fashion show. If you're in the first three rows, you matter. If you're not, you don't. Even Kelly's 7 year old daughter, Ava, knows how about seating and asks to sit in the front row of one of the show. She was denied... by her own mother! The best quote of the episode came from their exchange: "Don't cry about not being in the front row. You're seven years old."

Stefanie can't seem to do the RSVPs for one of the shows alone so she asks bitchy intern Emily for help. Between Stefanie, Emily, and Andrew, they screw it up royally and then face a computer glitch, where they can't even print out the seating chart to send to the designer hours before the show. Did they work it all out? They left us with a cliffhanger... to be continued... argh!
