The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 5

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Alexis and Tamra hit the courts for a friendly game of tennis because being active is better than sitting on the couch, crying, and feeling sorry for themselves. True enough! Afterwards, they debate whether or not they'll attend Gretchen's party. Tamra doesn't want to go because of the horrible, nasty things Gretchen has been writing about her on her blog. Seems that there's no peace treaty being signed just yet.

Gretchen is getting ready for her party... her Tupperware party, that is. Yeah, you read that right. One by one, the housewives showed up - with two exceptions. Vicki had work to do and Tamra, well, you knew she wasn't coming. Things really get interested with the host shows up, Kay Sedia, a fabulous little drag queen.

The presentation was fun but it gets ugly when Gretchen's friend Mel hits on Alexis's husband. Either Mel is a lightweight or a liar because she claims to have had only had one glass of wine but she's slurring her speech and refusing to shut up. The men step in to break up the catfight and Jim asks Alexis just to let it go.

The next day, Tamra heads over to Lynne's to offer some support over the difficulties she and her husband Frank are having with their daughter, Alexa. Alexa is having a tough time because Lynne has been so busy with her business and Racquel, her older sister, doesn't seem to want to have much to do with her anymore. Lynne tries to put her foot down and make Alexa stay in after she missed curfew the night before but she takes off anyway.

Time to check in on Vicki, who claims that she's been working hard and demonstrates that by throwing a botox/spray tan party for her staff in the office. Hmm, not a typical day where I work but then again, Vicki's not my boss.

Day turns to night and Alexa is nowhere to be found. Lynne refuses to go to bed until she knows that her daughter is home safe and she waltzes in around 11:45pm. She's bratty and unapologetic and you can't help but feel for Lynne, who is trying her best to deal with her.

Gretchen, Alexis, and their men head out for a day at the races. The only things bigger than the limo they ride in are the hats that the ladies are wearing. Gretchen points out that she's having much more fun without Tamra there and defends keeping her blog up on her website about her. Alexis takes the political approach and doesn't take sides.

Back at Lynne's, Alexa is called home for a meeting with Vanessa, the youthologist who helped Racquel discover her passion for art.

When Alexa is called out for her behavior, she breaks down and cries because she wants to do what she wants to do. She ends up walking out and no one really stops her. Off she goes...
