Fashion designer Tressa Williams of Fierce Couture was eliminated on last week’s episode of Launch My Line along with her partner on the show, Vanessa. Today she spoke with Reality Wanted about her experience.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: On last week's episode, it seemed like you were trying to help reign in Vanessa. How much of the last dress was your design?
A. Tressa Williams, Launch My Line: As in all the challenges, I worked with Vanessa to bring her vision to life.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: What was your thought process as you tried to help Vanessa design an outfit everyone could understand?
A. Tressa Williams: I work with private clients on custom designs regularly - the process of bringing someone's vision to life is the same in both contexts. Vanessa is an artist when it comes to clothes - she is designing for a fabulous unique individual who loves being on the forefront.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: How difficult were the challenges compared to your background experience?
A. Tressa Williams: The challenges were a blast - great fun to be given the opportunity.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: Who is your favorite to win the show?
A. Tressa Williams: Vanessa (was) of course!!!
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: What is your background?
A. Tressa Williams: I have a degree in art history and costume design and have been running my own design studio since 2003.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: How do you feel your aesthetic style compared with Vanessa's?
A. Tressa Williams: We both have unique aesthetics - we are creative individuals and we embody that in the way we dress and in our design sense.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: What would you do differently if you were able to do the show over again?
A. Tressa Williams: Nothing - I think the outfits Vanessa and I made were fantastic.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: How much say do you believe the expert designers had in the styling of the garments?
A. Tressa Williams: I think it varied pair to pair.
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: Do you keep in touch with anyone from the show?
A. Tressa Williams: Yes - it was such a great group of people. So much talent in one room!
Q. Chandra, Reality Wanted: What are you working on now?
A. Tressa Williams: Just finished two outfits for Heidi Klum - images here: http://www.fiercecouture.com/press/HeidiKlum09.html
