Ghost Hunters

Lakehurst Navel Air Station – Lakehurst, , New Jersey

Long before the Good Year Blimp roamed over sports stadiums, the Hydrogen filled Hindenburg owned the skies before catching fire while trying to land in Lakehurst, New Jersey.  36 people died in the tragic accident that became one of the most famous radio broadcasts of all time on May 6th, 1937. Not only were people experiencing paranormal activity in the hanger which housed the Hindenburg, and temporarily the bodies of those in the crash, but also the medical building and the crash site itself.  Current workers and night watchman have seen multiple apparitions with one report of a apparition walking up to a person and going right through him.  Voices, music, and lights going on and off have also been reported by those working at the base.

Co-Founders of TAPS, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, started their investigation in the monstrous hanger that once held the Hindenburg.  It wasn’t long before they believed they saw some type of figure and then another.  The second figure unfortunately was just a piece of equipment covered up by a plastic sheet.

Kris Williams and Amy Bruni were in charge of checking out the base medical center.  They noticed that a light turned on at the end of the hall where they were standing and then it went off.  The light then went on again and turned off again.  Probably an electrical issue which will be investigated before the night is over.

Britt Griffith and Dustin Pari, both filling in for Reality T.V. stars, Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves, from “Ghost Hunters Academy”,  were having multiple experiences while up in the rafters of the hanger.  Kris and Amy were next go into the hanger and, while walking down a hallway, where positive someone or something was with them as they heard a man’s voice make a grunting noise and a door closing.  As if on queue, a light at the end of the hall turned on.  They did an EVP session but did not receive any noticeable communication.

It was Jason and Grants turn to look into the paranormal activity at the medical clinic.  They found high EMF levels, as well as, sewage gas coming through one of the drains in the basement floor.  The combination of these two things could be messing with people’s minds. They headed back to hanger and continued to experience seeing something zip around in the rafters then followed by, what seemed to them, as a group of people making a shouting noise.  They thought they saw someone bending over one of the rails.  No one else was around so chalk this one up to paranormal activity.  They then headed to the crash site, which is eerie in itself, hoping for something on their thermal or maybe a good EVP.  Nothing out of the ordinary happened but you never know until you listen to the audio tapes if someone answered their questions.

The team was able to catch on audio some footsteps that Dustin was hearing while on the catwalks of the hanger, as well, as the noises that Amy and Kris were hearing in one of the hangers hall ways.  You can easily hear someone or something sighing.   Another audio that was caught was that of a raspy voice or groan caught in the medical center.  A really solid EVP came when Kris was trying to make contact with the spirits and she was saying that “it must have been hard to go through this whole Hindenburg experience” to which the voice responded “Very Hard.”  For the first time in awhile, TAPS was impressed with the paranormal activity at this site.

This was the season finale, and it was a pretty good one.   Till next season…..
