Survivor: Samoa

by Gina Scarpa

Tonight, on Survivor: Samoa, it’s going to be a race to find that damn hidden immunity idol before Russell gets his hands on it again.

Laura is on the warpath to get Russell out but what I can’t figure out is why she talks strategy for even one second with Natalie in the tent with her.  I realize that she doesn’t get that Shambo is working with Foa Foa but why would you ever say anything in front of Natalie when you know who she’s aligned with?  Meanwhile, Shambo is hoping to find the idol… and give it to Russell.  I hope she’s just dehydrated.  If you find that idol, you keep it!

For tonight’s reward challenge, the players will be divided into two teams of five.  One player will lie in a cradle while the other four players help maneuver that cradle so 15 flags can be picked up.  The winning tribe will be flown to a nearby island for a picnic lunch… and they’ll get a cell phone in order to take pictures, not to call home.   Still a good prize.

The teams are: Jaison, Mick, Shambo, Monica, and John versus Dave, Brett, Laura, Russell, and Natalie.  Knowing that a clue regarding the idol is probably at the reward, Russell is really hoping his team pulls off a win.  The only problem is that Laura will get that clue as well.  Maybe the curse of Foa Foa is attributed to Jaison and Mick because their team is having some serious problems while Russell and Natalie’s team speeds through this challenge.    Their team finishes first while the others have to head back to camp emptyhanded.  I think if I were Russell (given his ridiculous luck), I’d rather go back to camp and look for the idol, then be away from it for hours.

Jaison and Mick have big mouths.  They tell Monica, back at camp, that they have a Galu player working with them and, of course, she immediately feels that it’s Shambo.  Idiots.

The idol has been hidden under a rock.  Oh, that’s helpful.  There’s only a million rocks around the camp.  Hopefully, a Foa Foa member can find it and, as soon as everyone’s back from reward, the hunt is on.  Dave and Laura are literally chasing Russell around camp.  Do they realize how stupid they look?

OH MY GOD!  RUSSELL FOUND THE IDOL!  I can’t even handle how much I love it.

Tonight’s immunity challenge is a good ol’ throw a rock and break a tile challenge.  The objective is to break your own because, for each one you break, you get a spear.  The spears are then used to throw at a target. Closest person wins.  Only Brett, Jaison, Monica (because Dave broke her tile accidentally), and Mick make it to the final round.  Mick finally wins something and gets his spear closest to the bullseye.  ‘Bout time you did something, buddy!

It looks like the vote is going to be split tonight - 5 votes for Laura and 5 votes for a Foa Foa member.  Laura wants to vote Russell again but John thinks Natalie is the best bet.  No one listens to him and he thinks Galu are bunch of idiots.  I think he’s an idiot for continuing to align with them.  Can Brett and John please go rogue?  Monica tries to use some acting skills and convince Foa Foa to vote out John, when in reality, they’re all going to vote to get Natalie out.  PLEASE DO NOT TRUST MONICA.

John shoots up 50 points in my book when he decides to stop sitting around and instead, take some action.  He goes to Russell and they share information.  As we head into tribal council, I want to say that anybody who lets a tie vote get to the purple rock phase is a total moron.  Take some action instead of leaving it up to fate.  Even Probst can’t believe it when Dave says he’s willing to draw a rock.

Here are the votes: Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Tie.  Idiots.  Time for a revote.  Here are the second round of votes: Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  Natalie.  Laura.  LAURA.

Wow... not gonna lie.  That was awesome.
