Last night, on America’s Next Top Model, the girls were shocked when Tyra revealed that not one, but two models would be headed home after the photo shoot.  For their last shoot before making it to the finale, the girls had to pose on volcanic rock at a Hawaiian beach.  Jennifer tried her best to look like a volcanic goddess but her energy did not come across in her photo.  When the judges agreed that her overall body of work was fantastic, she ended up being eliminated from the competition.  Today, Jennifer spoke to RealityWanted in an exclusive interview about her experiences on the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to try out for Top Model this cycle and how did you end up being part of the show?
A. Jennifer: Wanting to try out is pretty easy.  I’ve always wanted but that height requirement was always in the way.  Since the opened up to girls who are shorter, like me, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity.  Since I lived in New York, I walked over the casting.  I was part of that whole fight breakout that happened.  That was me!  It was fine, though.  We stood in line for 8-9 hours and then that fight broke out and it was complete mayhem.  They sent us all home but they had a second casting.  It was great and such a smooth experience.  It made up for that first time around.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted:  That must have been scary to be in that crowd when the fight broke out.  What was it like?
A. Jennifer: Oh my God!  I can point myself out in the crowd!  It was really scary because all of the girls are packed in really tightly.  Imagine like at a Phish concert where everyone is just really packed and it’s shoulder to shoulder and back to front, back to front.  All of a sudden, you felt this surge come from behind you.  Girls were fainting and some girl ran up to me, scared to death… a total stranger.  Things died down really fast because the cops were already there.  It was chaotic.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was your expectation going in?  How did you think you were going to do?
A. Jennifer: I just told myself: “Don’t be the first girl to go home!”  I told my boyfriend that if I don’t make it past the first elimination, I didn’t know what I was going to do.  I definitely didn’t expect to make it as far as I did.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted:
Were there girls that stood out to you from the very beginning as your biggest competition?
A. Jennifer: After the first photo shoot, the girls that I was looking out for were Brittany… she knew her angles so well… Erin… because she got the best critiques from Jay ever… Nicole… because she was a rock stars… Laura… her photo was fabulous… I think that I really saw them as my biggest competition.  Rightfully so.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How do you feel you handled your exit from the competition?
A. Jennifer: It’s even hard for me to think back on that time.  I almost blacked out.  It was such a stunner, it was such a shock… I really didn’t expect it.  I look back and say, “Oh, that’s what I did.  That’s what I said.”  It was so surreal.  I definitely didn’t expect to act that way and say that my heart was broken and someone was ripping my heart out.  I think that’s just how I really felt.  If it wasn’t for Erin, I think I would’ve been even more of a wreck than I already was.  She was so helpful, supportive.  She was hugging me, telling me that it was going to be okay.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted:
Do you leave the competition with friends that you’ll stay in touch with?
A. Jennifer: Absolutely!  The final four girls… how can I not talk to them, right?  I always say that Laura is my wife and Erin and Nicole are my daughters.  It’s such a bond that you create on a reality tv show like this.  If they don’t intend on talking to me, I don’t care.  I will stalk them!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted:
Is there a photo in your Top Model portfolio that is your favorite?
A. Jennifer: Yeah, the shoot to make me taller is absolutely my favorite, favorite shot.  I love everything about it, from head to toe.  My dress was gorgeous, my styling was amazing.  I love the grungy backdrop with stellar, beautiful models. That’s exactly what it was.  It’s such a contrast.  I also loved working with the photographer, Jonathan Mannion.  He’s gold.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: I know that petite models face a lot of challenges in the fashion world.  What are your plans going forward?
A. Jennifer: I’m just gonna take it day by day.  I don’t know how the industry is really going react but I’m hopeful.  I feel like we have proven ourselves in a big, big way.  I’m going to look for agencies and I’m going to try acting as well.  I’m going to try to use every outlet possible.  I’m just gonna go for it!
