The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins

by Matt Anaya

The competition heated up on The Ruins this week as emotions boiled over between teammates and both teams are finding it harder to plan their next move.

With a lot of money on the line, Brad and the rest of the Challengers have grown tired of Casey’s act as she is clearly holding their team back.  For the last three weeks the Challengers have tried their hardest to formulate a plan to get Casey off but the only way is to win a challenge, which is nearly impossible.

Both teams only have seven players remaining: Cohutta, Dunbar, Brad, Casey, Sarah, Kim and KellyAnne for the Challengers and Darrell, Susie, Evan, Kenny, Derrick, Johanna and Johnny Bananas for the Champs.

Players on both teams are becoming paranoid as the game nears the end and the amount of money increases.  Susie considered throwing the next challenge so she could go into The Ruins against Casey, which is considered an easy victory.

Johnny Bananas started watching his back last week because he has trouble controlling what comes out of his mouth and he picked on the wrong dude last week.  Derrick does not hold an alliance with anyone but Evan and Kenny respect Derrick and the bosses would throw Bananas to the wolves if Derrick tells them to.

The Champs won the preliminary challenge with ease and it was all because of Casey. The challenge was to roll down a hill in a huge tire and bring the huge tire back up the hill and the Challengers did great except Casey, who took nine minutes more than anyone.

If Casey was not on the team the Challengers could have possibly won and it was a joke to watch Casey. I think she is trying hard and not quitting but it was very funny to watch her struggle, as always. She has lost more than three challenges for the Challengers and if she was not on the team this would be a much more competitive game than it is.

The Champs play matchmaker and Johanna, who volunteered, picked Sarah. Not much reason behind it except Johanna called her a rookie. Darrell also volunteered under the agreement if he wins he gets a free pass until the elimination round; he picked Cohutta.

Cohutta defeated two monsters, Wes and Syrus, in the past two elimination rounds and he had little chance to keep his streak alive. Darrell defeated Cohutta in The Ruins and also took his bank account, making Darrell the richest man in the game and a free pass to the end. Great work, Darrell.

Sarah is the most enthusiastic person in the game and she made quick work of the listless Johanna. Although a rookie, Sarah wants to win badly and she is 2-0 in her elimination rounds this season.

Power Rankings
1. Darrell has the most cash and a free ride to the end.
2. Evan was on top all season long but he did not pounce on an opportunity the way Darrell did.
3. Kenny and Evan have a solid alliance.
4. Derrick is a very solid player and should be in the end.
5. Kelly Anne does not have as much money as Sarah so she will not be up for elimination.
6. Casey has very little chance of getting eliminated and winning at the end.
7. Sarah has people’s respect but she has a lot of money, which is a bad thing in this game.
8. Brad has no money but he will be up for elimination next week or the week after.
9. Dunbar is in the same position as Brad.
10. Kim won an elimination round and drew people’s respect but she has a lot of money and could be the next one sent home.
11. Susie took a tumble as she is the only girl left on the Champs team and she will not win every elimination round left this season.
12. Johnny Bananas is in trouble with his teammates and he needs to prove himself.

Sidenotes
There is a fight next week and it looks like it involves Darrell. If it does that is a very expensive punch and I am not sure who the other fighter looks like. Maybe Derrick, but they are friends, so it must be either Brad or Bananas. I think we can safely assume it is Bananas who gets knocked out.
