Amos J. Blake House Museum – Fitzwilliam, N.H.

Amos Jewett Blake was a prominent citizen of Fitzwilliam NH.  His main job was a lawyer but he was also a town official and a state legislator and apparently just simply a well thought of man in the community.  The house, built in 1837, is now a museum, for the town, I guess, and was last used as a office for his son’s insurance business.  Apparitions of a boy, a man, and even what’s been called a “cat” have been reported by visitors and museum workers.  The boy is said to be the son of Amos who died at a very young age and the apparition of the man has been described as Amos himself.  Others have reported doors closing by themselves and other strange sounds that they could not interpret.

Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson started their investigation of the main floor and were getting some hits on the K2 meter, as well as, on their thermal imager in the same area where the museum workers have seen a little boy running around.  They believed this could be a case of a residual haunting as the readings were pretty consistent.

Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves tried to debunk a door opening by itself in one of the bedrooms.  As they were trying to make contact during a EVP session, the door opened.  Unfortunately it wasn’t as ghostly as we all hoped as Steve realized that if he made movements in a certain area of the room it made the door move and latch.

Jason and Grant tried to make contact with the little boy and took various toys and put them on the floor to see if anything would happen.  One of their flashlights did go on by itself after they asked “the boy” to turn it on.  Nothing much happened after that but they left some recording equipment in the room to catch any activity.

Amy Bruni and Kris Williams spent time in the kitchen trying to debunk some bells that would ring by themselves.  It was pretty logical to them that either wind from a vent or window could easily make the bells make noise.  While they were walking around a big pitch fork slipped down from the wall and was caught on video…paranormal or just an item falling?

Jason and Grant headed to the basement where the ghost child and ghost cat have been seen.  As they were walking they began to smell cat urine and Jason felt something rub up against his leg and then they heard a cat purr or growl but could not find a cat or any other animal.

The review of the evidence did produce an EVP of a cat meowing so there is something certainly going on their with the ghost cat.  When the team reviewed the pitch fork falling they were amazed to see that there was a chain wrapped around one of the blades and something unwrapped the chain, causing the pitch fork to fall.  Don’t believe, head to the website to see the reply, pretty creepy. TAPS didn’t call the place haunted but felt it was certainly an area that could draw paranormal activity because of it’s long history.

Arbona Building – Pensacola, FL

1885 started out as a saloon but also served as the house of the Arbona family.  Now a museum, a body was found buried in the back yard and it was not put their by the family and could not be explained.  The caretakers of the museum have seen multiple shadow figures, heard doors slamming, and found books randomly stacked in the middle of the floor.  The head of the museum one day felt someone breathing on the back of her neck and began hearing whispers but when she turned around no one was there.  Another worker felt that someone or something was trying to unzip her purse or pull on her purse in the upstairs area.  Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves were unavailable due to spending time filming their upcoming show, “Ghost Hunters Academy,” which might be hard to watch unless you like a bunch of TV hungry people screaming at their own shadows for an hour.  Brett Griffith and Ghost Hunters International star Dustin Pari would add some support during the investigation.

Amy and Kris were the first to investigate and seemed to be chasing some noise that they simply could not track down.  The noise always seemed to be on the other side of wherever they were at.  Maybe something would show up on the recorder.

Jason and Grant felt that they may have been able to explain the shadows constantly seen by workers in the museum by the large amount of reflective items in the building being activated by the sunlight from the various windows.  They tried a few EVP sessions but didn’t get anything audible.

Dustin and Britt tried to get the spirits to stack the books that they placed throughout one of the museum rooms.  Nothing much to report here.

Overall the team had very few personal experiences so they were really hoping something was caught on the recorders but they didn’t really get anything.  The team thought that maybe the place is dealing with a residual haunting stemming from those trying to relive their good times from the saloon or attracting spirits from the various relics they had in the museum.
