Tonight, on So You Think You Can Dance, it’s going to be very interesting to see what America thinks of the Top 16 dancers.  Because of the baseball playoffs, this is the first chance that we’re getting to hear their voice.  Based on the performances last night, it’s pretty safe to say who the bottom three couples will be but you never know…

Things get started with a pretty sick hip hop routine, with a tribal theme, choreographed by Dave Scott.  Immediately after, the first three couples are brought out to find out their fate.  Ellenore and Ryan are the first to find out that they’ll be in the bottom three.  Channing at Viktor are safe, as are Kathryn and Legacy.  No surprise there. 

After a quick commercial break, Cat’s back with the next three couples.  Of course, Ashleigh and Jakob are deemed safe.  Russell and Noelle are also safe but that damn quickstep catches up with Pauline and Peter and they are the second couple to be put in the bottom three.

You would probably think that when Mollee, Nathan, Karen, and Kevin were standing on stage, that you knew who would end up in the bottom three.  However, never underestimate the power of fans.  Adam Shankman called it last night.  The fans would pick up the vote to protect Mollee and Nathan and that’s exactly what they did.  Karen and Kevin are the last couple to land in the bottom tonight.

Before the solos get underway, we’re treated to a performance by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.  They are so amazing!!

Here’s how the solos went down:
- I want to like Ellenore but she’s just too weird for me.  I feel like she tries too hard to be different.
- It’s always hard for ballroom dancer to get their point across in a solo but I think Ryan does a phenomenal job.
- Pauline has been dealt some unfortunate circumstances this season but she’s a great dancer.  I hope the judges appreciate her solo tonight.
- While I have appreciated the fact that the judges wanted to incorporate tap this season, it’s a really tough venue to make it work.  Everyone else tonight has music and emotion to play off of.  Could this be the end of the tappers?
- I would like to see Karen do something else besides use her sex appeal to get ahead in the competition but there is certainly no denying her talent and abilities.
- I have to put Kevin’s solo up against other hip hop solos of the past… and I’m underwhelmed.

As the judges deliberate, I feel that they’re going to send Pauline and Peter packing.  They are unanimous in their decision and I am correct in my prediction.
